Ballard up 14-0.

Since we're obviously just saying who we want to win, I vote Manual.

I won't lay awake at night on that scenario, to be blunt. Also, PRP has to beat Central; that would take some grit off the mat considering the battles they've been in lately.

Tiebreaker for D3 breaks down like this: As of today, it's Butler, Manual, PRP. PRP is pretty much assured of 4th. They need to beat Central and have all of their non-district opponents win out just to tie Manual on the tiebreaker, and Manual and Butler have to lose. If Manual beats Male, they're second. If not, they're likely third.

Defense is banged up, and the kids are still transitioning to the new scheme. Manual ran Joe's defense for over a decade, from when he was an assistant with Mayes to taking over as head coach. Sounds like some culture change.

Also, when I first made that post I was incorrect... according to Google Maps, there are 5 schools in 6A closer to Fern Creek than their closest district opponent.

Which three schools in the proposed 3A are closer than Wayne County?

If you're drawing districts in 6A for the Louisville area and you were given dots on a map and no names, there's no way that the vast majority of people wouldn't group the districts like I've pointed out at the beginning of this thread. Especially if you don't look ahead and see that these districts will split into different semis. Does anyone dispute that? Then how in the world is that "right and fair?" It should NOT be the KHSAA's role to level the playing field any more than it should be their role to balance the brackets and make sure the top two schools can play each other.

I don't care if Trinity is in the east or the west. But I don't like that the KHSAA cares, and I don't like the way they got there. Also, VoR, that isn't how they drew up the district. They even considered putting Seneca with Oldham County.

As this is the thread on Tackett's statements to the CJ, I guess I'll just keep commenting on those. Your point about whether Trinity in the grans scheme of things belongs in the East or West sectionals is conjecture. The districts should be built without consideration for what the finals look like, and in that case Trinity belongs with Ballard, Eastern and Oldham County. Again, just so it doesn't get lost: They took the first two closest schools to Oldham County, and then changed the criteria. It was clearly done with an eye towards creating the X-T-M-H super district. I don't think that's appropriate.

Again, I'm done guessing; why do you ask if Manual and Male are open enrollment? The answer, if you missed it, is "yes, along with the rest of Jefferson County."

I'd rather go back to Louisville vs the State. At least it's honest.

So are you saying that Tackett was dishonest about the process? I don't see how you can keep failing to reconcile what Tackett said and what you claim he considered, without saying that he was less than forthcoming with the CJ.

Oh, no, I get the common schools comment. And it's plenty clear how the district was put together. In fact, I'd call the common schools comment the primary consideration.

Quite frankly, I suspect this is all just an exercise in moving the goal posts. When they come back in a few weeks and tell us about all the careful consideration and deliberation and meditating on feedback and propose something like this: Or this: then everyone will be able to say, yes, that's better, it makes more sense, it's a good compromise, but it still won't be the most efficient or logical setup, and it will still secure their top goal which is to keep X and T on the same side of the bracket. I don't really care about that last part, I just don't like the gerrymandering to get there.

Besides, I'm not going to just let you drop your questions about which school belongs with Ballard, Eastern and Oldham County, which is Trinity of course. Trinity clearly belongs in the north eastern district. Can you look at that map and say otherwise?

And let's say Fern Creek is further East, and belongs in that district (but don't pretend Tackett said it!) In that case, why don't they keep moving east to west? Why isn't the next district Trinity, Seneca, Southern and Male?

I'm still waiting for someone to point out to me where Tackett said that was part of the consideration. I see where he said they picked the two schools closest to Oldham County, then skipped over the next closest school, which was Trinity; then Seneca; then Manual; then X; then Male; and finally paired them with Fern Creek.
