  1. Nope, that's exactly how I meant it. But it does work both ways.
  2. Also, to an atheist, there's not all that much daylight between a very devout Muslim and a very devout Baptist.
  3. No Christian terrorists? I'm sure abortion doctors in bulletproof vests agree.
  4. I think it depends on how the NBA plays it, and how smart the player's association is (when that gets reincarnated, considering the owners murdered it in the last round.)
  5. But would Louisville have made the Final Four if we replace some of Larry O'Bannon's minutes with Rondo his freshman year?
  6. If you're opposed to this because you're worried that UofL or UK might not get the next Kobe Bryant to entertain you for compensation exceedingly under his market value, you need to take a long, hard look in the mirror. I love college basketball and football, but there's no way around the fact that the players at the top of the system are being used by the universities and sports media. The guys getting the most out of college ball are players like Gorgui Dieng or Elvis Dumervil, guys who would have been under the radar to their respective potential employers but received training and exposure that allowed them to make it, and then the guys who fill out the rosters but aren't pro prospects benefit to a much lesser degree--depending on what their degree is actually worth coming out of a football factory or what kind of car dealership gig they can wrangle out of their local fame. The One and Done basketball players are at the forefront of our minds on this topic, but the football players have it much worse, IMO, as they do currently operate under an age limit (which actually makes sense for more than just a collective bargaining item to protect veterans in players' unions) but have an even smaller average window to benefit from their athletic talents.
  7. Nah, I'm just foolin'. I'll take LBJ in Forum Blue.
  8. I own this: If Cal goes to LA, I will own this:
  9. If Cal wants an absolute prestige NBA job, then now is the time to be polishing your cover letter. Of the four top jobs, there's going to be openings for two, maybe three (LA, NY and possibly Chicago) and the other (Boston) is already sewn up.
  10. Phil Jackson only wanted to coach half the games, and there's also the factor of having to kowtow to Jackson that stuck in the craw of most of the ownership. They resented the notion of the Zen Master riding in to save the day.
  11. It's also possible for a gay guy to date while he's in the closet.
  12. Trolling hard or hardly trolling?
  13. It certainly rules out dating a girl who is poly.
  14. That's obviously my issue. I was pretty explicit there.
  15. It's the last one one the list, if you missed it (which I know you didn't...)
  16. Enforcing who a player can and cannot date is what I have a problem with.
  17. I don't, because they're still on the clock, so to speak.
  18. That's not what it says. I'm responding to the rule as written.
  19. Because public schools aren't religious institutions. Religious schools can have whatever stupid rule they want. Other private schools that you mentioned, like Stanford, would never publicly advertise a rule enforcing monogamy, because plenty of their students would lose it.
  20. I know a lot of people who would view it the same way, yes. I have no problem with rules that are about treating others with respect, but in my opinion mandating monogamy it's our of bounds.
  21. BYU has already demonstrated that it can.
  22. Another example I'm sure everyone's ok with: no girlfriends outside your own race.
