I'm glad someone else brought that up first. I had the point that Manual has what is surely the largest openly gay student bodies on the state in my original post, but decided that might not be taken well.

Yeah, he said that his kids were just as good as Trinity's, a blasphemy. That's the bulletin board material.

Jbwill2, could you post that comment from Manual's coach? I only saw the one where Lucas said his kids were just as good, which would be the opposite. Maybe I missed them?

I predict that it will be interesting to see Manual sized up against an opponent who isn't off the charts of what Kentucky football can test.

I said Trinity by a thousand against Manual. Here I'll say Trinity by two thousand.

1) I had to leave during the second quarter (4 month old decided he has watched enough football) but until that point I sat behind the Manual students and didn't hear any of that. They did bust out the bull hockey chant when they wanted a pass interference call in the first. Not saying it didn't happen later. 2) Trinity gave Manual the whipping I expected. Unfortunately, I'm also seeing the same thinking by a few Trinity posters that I called out yesterday. Seriously, taking Lucas' comments as "bulletin board material" or treating it like smack talk to mock after the game is arrogant and petty. There's really no other word for it. Manual's student section sounds like it got bad during the game but there are some Trinity fans on here failing to win with class. Being in a large group packed together in a partisan environment and having the anonymity of the internet produces similar results, I guess. I would say about half the people I have met IRL and formed friendships with on this board and have been Trinity fans. Before this week, my feeling was that if Manual couldn't spoil, I wanted Trinity to run the table and get that mythical title. I still feel that way, but some of you make it hard.

I'll be there! And I personally doubt that Trinity is that arrogant, but sometimes a mindset from the outside can seep into a team, even one as focused and disciplined as the Rocks. So, Trinity fans, do your part and remind those boys that they can't lose!

Manual's coach said he thinks his players are as good as Trinity's. I certainly hope Trinity's team is arrogant enough that calling their undefeated opponent their peers is an insult worthy of bulletin board material status. Manual might just have a shot in that case. And if the team that everyone says is the next mythical national champ needs to play this silly disrespect card, maybe they aren't the team I thought they were.

I believe I gave my expectations.
