[ Let's not forget about one huge reason they have the tournament and that's to give out scholarships to numerous kids from each region. They are successful at that. And Knott County has given more money to the Scholarship fund than any other county in the 3 Regions!

The picture on the cover page was of the side Phelps (Hornet fans were long gone by the time this photo was snapped) and North Laurel were sitting on.There was still a big crowd for this game considering there was a 2hr delay due to power outage and the fact this game didn't tipoff until after 10 PM. North Laurel did not bring very many fans to the classic. I really don't think anyone could have put on a better tournament than this year's Classic. This comes from personal involvement and many comments from fans, coaches administrators,and The WYMT Classic committee. No word on total attendance but appears to be the best in years. Stu had 15 points, hit the 3 at :37 seconds off double screen to tie and send game to OT. This youngster is getting better every game he plays. Stu is learning the difference of the speed of the high school game vs. grade school games and adjusting to it. Coach Feltner is doing a great job bringing Stu along. This Kid is gonna be special !

Why? Knott Co. Central ran an extremely successful tournament. Everyone I talked to was very pleased with the management of the MT. Classic this year. Were you at any of the games My Adidas?

At the time the pairings were made Knott was 4-0 and all wins were in double digits.

I am responding to these posts at the request of Coach Joe Beder. Cocah Beder is not leaving KNOTT COUNTY CENTRAL! Coach Beder says he expects to retire here!, and he has several years before he does that. Knott Central's Bobby Owens broke several school records : Most TDs in season 23. single game rushing record 374, tied state record with 99 yard TD run, single season rushing 2020 yards. Bobby did this while sitting out 1.5 games.

Are PCC and Knott Co. alternating the tournament each year as the host? Yes, However this is the 1st time Knott has hosted since Gym renovation.... The Complex looks great!

North will have their hands full with Hazard...NL/Hazard could be the best game in the opening Round.

Why doesn't someone organize any and all media outlets and let them all vote and forget about the AP? It's a shame PLAYERS who have a great season ie. Bobby Owens Knott County Central (2nd leading rusher in state) and Durrell OLinger Hazard QB, gets no mention, and I know there are others not getting the recognition they deserve! BGP will have the most comprehensive All-State teams, simply because the voters know their stuff!
