That and their culture as a whole is much more sports oriented. Thats not to say we don't have athletes as good as their's because we do. But OH schools take sports much more serious than NKY. Primarily it starts when our public school kids are young. We place silly things like academics first and foremost at the elementary and middle school levels. Nobody seems to care about developing kids for sports before high school. Very few have highlands type programs. Our middle schools have started their own programs, but in most cases teachers get preferential treatment when hiring. OH schools take the best candidate.

Look at Beechwood's enrollment, then look at a CPS public school. 10:1 may be a bit much, I'd be happy to cut it to 2:1 if that will make you feel better. Point is that OH schools are much larger. I'm sure that if you're going to try and argue otherwise you will quote a private school as an example, but that's an apple to an orange kind of thing. NKY high schools are dwarfs in comparison. Most high schools over there look like college campus's, and the population base is much higher as well. NKY school districts create new schools when enrollment approaches 1600. Oh schools just build another building.

And don't forget Tyler Florez and Jeff Stahlkamp in the secondary.

Ditto, Despite what people may think, Dixie did not walk all over SK. They held us close and made me nervous for quite a while. a 10 point lead at half is hardly insurmountable. lol I believe someone else said torn rotator cuff on Firday night, but I don't know how they would know that for sure Friday night. It was separated on the last play he was in I am certain. UK#1 Fan tried to say he was injured in the first half, but there is a huge difference between hurt and injured. When he left the game in the 3rd he was injured, anything before then was only dings and bruises. He is a very good QB that will do nothing but get better in the future.

Vicki is a wonderful coach and will be sorely missed. She is truly a class act. I recently saw her at a club tryout, where she was helping evaluate talent. At the end of the first day she came to the director and said, " I want #999's contact information." The club director complied, but before doing so asked why. Her answer, "Because I'm going to call some college coaches I know and make sure she gets on their radar." The kid in question didn't choose her club but she still made the phone calls.

He's my avatar for those who wondered. I actually think the Metzger boys were both better than either Moore, Zajac, or Barrett individually when it comes to running the ball. But put Moore/Zajac/Barrett on the same team and they win hands down.

You obviously know nothing about our area. Ohio Football is superior to NKY football at the highest levels. Yes, we will have teams compete, but as a whole they would win 75 % of the battles with our teams, and thats a conservative estimate. You must also remember that Ohio schools have a much much larger school system and districts than NKY too. Attendance is 10:1 in a lot of instances. A good football player here would be more apt to be attracted to go across the river to them than the other way around. We don't get hand me down players. That's a myth.

Yes. But I think the O line on this squad is better. The defense overall is about the same. The running game on this years squad is better. Definitely give Passing to the 04 team. The overall Quality of team is very comparable.

I'm very excited that we will face them in the semi's. Whichever team comes out of it it should be a great tuneup for state. Both teams are playing well. See ya Friday night!

So your saying they weren't ready to play last time and that's why Dixie won. Not because Dixie is that much better but because you weren't ready. Reminds me of one of those races where the guy steps up to the line and gets smoked, only to say he wasn't ready and the loss doesn't count. Generally those guys don't do well in rematches.

NKUCLiubBaseball19 is correct, the visitor side has a concession stand too at Dixie, and yes it is always open during football games and the line is always shorter then the home team concourse area. In all seriousness the original design was to have equal stands on the visitor side but the project ran over and the board decided to lessen the bleachers over there temporarily. Seeing how the field is 9 years old I'd guess temporary is permanent now.

They couldn't afford the extra grass on the edges back in the 20's when it was built.

It's an optical illusion. Dixie's stadium is larger and I had to shrink it to make it all fit. Besides, if I hadn't enlarged sk's filed you would have never seen the visitor stands.
