Actually I was at the game and Franklin led by 1 going into the 4th quarter. Stretched the lead to 5 and then had a series of costly turnovers in the half court. Good effort by both teams, but both showed its early in the season.

I thought they played hard yesterday. They are a good team. Coach does a good job as well. He has a vision of how he wants his kids to play and he does a good job trying to teach his kids while the game is going on to help them improve.

Franklin County beat Bracken 68-40.

Frankfort will win this one in a classic. A great defensive game that comes down to two point conversion execution and who can stay out of 3rd and long situations because of both teams great run defenses. Frankfort's players have put the injury excuse behind them and played hard each week after losing Weaver and Tillman early on in the season. Although this is the best team that Frankfort has played thus far, Foley, Smith and Ackiln will have the Panters ready and they will win 23-19 with the following mindset, "You can't worry about the horse being blind or hurt, just load the wagon and see how far down the road you can go." Next week may be a different story but this week..I'll take the Panthers in an upset.

The game is on. The error occurred with game officials assigned to Friday night. On the officials website it says game cancelled when in fact all that happened was that certain officiating crews were switched to various games in the area for Friday and the website did not reflect the change until today. It is my guess that this conversation was started amongst officials that are now working another game but not this particular one and the assigning secretary has another crew that is finding out today that their game has been changed to Franklin-Harrison. Just a bit of a technical error so to speak. Good luck to both teams.:thumb:

M'boro has a great field. It drains well with the exception of the lower end near the right corner of the field. It is a great atmosphere but the visiting locker room leaves alot to be desired to say the least. You may need to take a "bucket" (no pun intended) to get the rain out of there before the three lightbulbs short out that are in there. Enjoy the trip!! :lol:

Here is the reality of things. Franklin County has lost two times total (one time to each school located in the county) since 2003. The X factor in alot of games was a young man named Kaelin Ammons to say the least and a very good O and D Line headed up by Coach Ledford. Now those "difference makers" are Corry and Weaver at the other two respective schools. In the grand scheme of things those two games mean nothing for post season play although trying to get to the second and third round of the playoffs is much harder with Catholic and Boyle in the way than say an Eminence, Ludlow, or Spencer County. Thats just 4A football, bigger schools and alot of tradition in the district opposite County so step up or go home. In regards to experience 10 kids started on offense for FCHS Saturday that had NEVER started on offense in a varsity football game and I had an ole football coach tell me one time that that for every sophomore that you start in high school football is a loss and County started 8 of them so get ready for a long year. Get ready for some great years in 2010 and 2011 but it will take some time, adoption of a scheme that fits the personnel and most importantly these players understanding that when you have averaged 8 wins a year since 2003 you don't just line up and bank on that...... you have to play one game at a time one year at a time and I think some people are satisifed with what has been done in the past instead of working for the future. Middle school success is quite forgotten if you don't get it done on the high school varsity level. Just my two cents!

Strength of schedule vs. Beechwood and LCA will hurt but in a one game situation in November anything can and will happen. LCA is very good.

Can someone give me a history lesson and tell me when the last time was that Western Hills defeated BOTH Frankfort High and Franklin County in the same season.

Many of the guards you mentioned are good players but other than Fucci I have not seen any of them that are better than the Hall kid from Franklin Co. He had good senior players around him in a team concept last season, but started the the year off by putting up 37 pts, 11 rebounds and 8 assists ina head-to-head match up with Chris Harrison against Trinity. (Game type Scrimmage at Anderson Co) Most of the successful pg's at the college level are able to put points on the board in high school.
