Didn't Greenup County win the 4A at-large Championship back in the 70's?

Congrats to Boyd on their victory. Now, I would like to say to my Cousin (Coty Roberts) and the other seniors on the team. I am personally proud of you all and so are the true diehard LC fans. I am sure I speak for them when I say "Good Luck in whatever you all decide to do in your life".

I agree that KY's new system has serious issues, but Ohio's system isn't broke but rewards teams for playing and winning against tougher competition. Waterford's 9 wins came against teams that did not finish above .500 and none of them made the playoffs. 3 teams had 2 wins and 3 teams had 1 win. http://www.joeeitel.com/hsfoot/teams.jsp?year=2007&teamID=1628 You mentioned their only loss was to a WV team which probably made the WV playoffs with their points that Waterford gave them. I am from Lawrence County and they are in the playoffs. Should they be there? No not with this record. I remember a few years ago LC finished the regular season at 7-3 and missed the playoffs. The only solution is let the KHSAA revisit this issue next year and work on it to make it better. Kentucky High School football has made strides in recent years and to me this is a step back.

I was stating their NON-DISTRICT schedule in the REGULAR SEASON. Preseason games are for the most part are controlled and are not counted by anyone other than fans. Only common opponents were Russell and Breathitt Co. Coal Grove did only play 9 games my bad. I think it will be a very close game. I am just stating that during the regular season LC schedule has been brutal for any team but especially a team learning a new offense and a young QB.

How is that? The regular season you played Russell and Breathitt and Pre-season you can only play 2 games, who were they and that is not the regular season totally different. You didn't play Coal Grove, Prestonsburg, Letcher, Sheldon Clark, Belfry so you didn't and couldn't play all of those teams too.

Lawrence County's schedule has been brutal. Their non-district schedule as of this week was: Coal Grove (7-3) just missed the Ohio Playoffs probably would have made it if LC had won 2 games. Prestonsburg (7-3) #8 in Class 2A Then they played the top 4 teams in Class 3A #1 Belfry (10-0) #2 Breathitt Co. (10-0) #3 Russell (9-1) #4 Sheldon Clark (8-2) Letcher Co. Central #9 in Class 5A (9-1) Brutal schedule with a new offense to learn and alot of inexperienced players at varsity level coming into the season. Key to LC winning in the playoffs "RUN COTY ROBERTS"

Who is QB for LC this week? If Shepard is in then LC will be a better team this time around than they was they last game they played against Boyd. LC 21 BC 20

Go back to 11 game regular seasons you still have a bye week and only have the top 2 teams make the playoffs. Or keep the current system and call it what it is a 12 game regular season game schedule with the top 4 teams in their district playing in the 11th and 12th games. One thing for sure is that the grass should be really green at the Pizza Box(I know it is turf with all of watering down of the playoffs.

I agree with you on Rowan and Greenup, but Coal Grove this year anyway is a playoff team in Ohio which is tough to do especially since LC is not giving them any Harbin Points.

St. Charles is 5-4 and has lost those 4 games in the last 4 weeks. Of those 4 losses they were too: Columbus Desales (9-0) #1 in D-II Region 7 lost to them 38-14 Youngstown Ursuline (7-2) #6 in D-V Region 17 lost to them 43-14 Jonathan Alder (8-1) #3 in D-IV Region 16 lost to them 14 -7 Bishop Watterson (6-3) #8 in D-II Region 7 lost to them 30 - 7 Cov Cath will win this game 24 - 17.

I have to vote for them. I gotta some faith, I never vote against my alma mater.:thumb:

Breathitt but closer than people think.

Ohio starts their OT at the 20 and just this past weekend there was a game that went into 5 overtimes. Why have so many OT's why not have just one overtime and if the score is still tied let it be just that a Tie.

With the Overtime format in Kentucky High School, you can't second guess the coaches going for the win at the end of regulation. The rematch in a few weeks will be a very good game and one I may try to get back to see.

Nov 9th it will be: Boyd County vs Lawrence County Greenup County vs Rowan County Home team in Bold.

Final Tied at the half 7-7. Sorry for not giving updates in the second half, but my brother who I was getting updates from was at work and he got called away from the radio, (he is a policeman in Louisa). But he did call me around midnight and I was asleep, but after reviewing his message, He said LC had over 210 yards in penalties and the announcers on the radio saying it was a horrible called game.
