  1. Looks like our Newarkcatholicfan will need our support this week. His Green Wave fell short of the D-VI title game by one point. No details on the game but I am sure he will fill us in. Sorry NCF, we know you love Newark Catholic football and it looks the future is bright for this team. I do believe they were not expected to go this far this year.
  2. HD had more total yardage than X, also had 140 yards rushing and 101 passing. X only had 39 yards rushing. HD gave X everything they wanted and more. St. X now will play Massillion in Canton Dec. 3rd.
  3. An interception by X deep in their terrority seals the victory.
  4. Congrats to Russell for the win and Belfry on another outstanding season. Sounds like it was a whale of a game. BGP shutdown on me, I think it was because everyone kept refreshing the screen so quickly. I am with Frances on this one, Jericho51 should have posted final score. Everyone give him a hand on a outstanding job keeping everyone updated. Thanks, Jericho51. :thumb:
  5. First off, I believe Smith is a senior unless they is another kid by the same name. But Aaron Smith played FB and LB last season but spent alot more time on defense this year at LB and very little on offense. Butcher played very little varsity but got alot of reps on the JV team. Carter if I am not mistaken started on the line for the Dawgs, I am not sure about him though maybe someone else can help me out here.
  6. Way to go Green Wave, now go get Central Catholic. :thumb: :dancingpa
  7. With Glenville and Canton McKinley getting beat yesterday, St. X should win the title now.
  8. Here is the article about the news for the Cincy teams. Moeller may get a game also, but the St. X is not set yet, but the Elder game is. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051118/SPT0301/311180014
  9. I disagree, special teams is an important part of a teams success throughout the year. Plus I just read online from the Daily Independent saying the kid from Newport had made a school record 72 consective PATs. Plus, Russell blocked the XP for the win.
  10. As much as Belfry would love to get that 3rd straight trip to the Pizza Box, I believe Russell may be a little better this year. Russell 27 Belfry 19
  11. That would be great, I know me and NCF would like it cause then we could go to KYs championships games and then the next weekend go to Ohio's championship games.
  12. That is only seating right? But there is plenty of standing room, which is where I will be. Depending on the weather I wouldn't be surprised to see close to 10,000 if they will let that many in there.
  13. I am glad Russell won for two reasons. 1) A classy team coached by a classy guy, Way to go Red Devils. 2) I have game to go to when I make the trek back to Kentucky Thanksgiving weekend. Who else will be there from BGP? I know me and Tuckycat already have plans to be there.
  14. After reading the article it really seems like the KHSAA is looking for anything against them. If the same aid is given to an non-athlete, what is the big deal then? Lets say for a person who is a math wiz is their Academic team penalized for wrongdoing? Too often in today's society we put too much emphasis (sp?) on sports, and not enough in education. Even the NCAA does this too, a kid cannot go to school to play sports unless they are academically eligible, but your everyday kid that barely carried a C average in high school does not have to score as high as the athletes. Why as an society do we put so much pressure on these kids when most of them only want to have fun in their teenage years.
  15. I knew he played at WJ this year, a guy I work with his grandson played in that game. He said Archie's son was unreal, he said he looks he could play for any high school right now.
  16. He does not live in the WYMT viewing area, therefore he cannot get it on Dish Network or DirectTV.
  17. Lawrence County against Lloyd Memorial, I believe 1997 the same year LC beat Breathitt County. It was about 15 at kickoff and got colder especially since the game wasn't close. No wind just bone chilling cold air.
  18. The game you have on tape is it the one with WJ playing a team that has Archie Griffin's son playing on it? I believe it was an freshman or 8th grade game.
  19. I don't need Mapquest. The point I was making is that Belfry and Pike County are actually southeastern Kentucky and Breathitt Co. is eastern Kentucky geographically speaking. I know Belfry is more east than Jackson but is located in the SE part of KY. The other point was no matter which SE Kentucky or East KY team wins it is a team from the mountains which for years was never consider for football.
  20. Maybe he should give his speech and tell his team Saturday Night ala' John Wooden, because this very well could be his last game.
  21. No doubt, and I agree about scheduling some of the top D-IV teams or even a D-1 team would IMO get them over the hump that they need. They are great throughout the season but stumble in the playoffs. I never understood why the keep playing West Jeff, I know they are in same county but London doesn't play WJ anymore, that would be a opportunity to play a high profile team.
