  1. Wow, NCF I didn't see this one coming. This truly will be a excellent job for someone to take. I wonder why he stepped down? I will ask some guys at work that live in Plain City and follow Pioneer football what happen.
  2. I knew when I seen the score on TV that you was probably the one I heard screaming when I walked outside.  Now go get Shadyside next week. :thumb: :dancingpa
  3.  You listed two schools that are East Kentucky and actually Breathitt is more eastern than Belfry and Pikeville. This is actually a funny thread, a few years ago if a team east of I-75 and south of I-64 got close to the carpet it was a victory for the Mountain teams and the 'Mountain teams' are dividing themselves.
  4. Yes, Westfall is a solid team but Ironton is alot better. Ironton beat them last year 41 - 21 in the first round. Actually it really didn't matter who won Bellaire will win this region anyway.
  5. Michael West did go to Marshall and he wanted to play but he was not given a schloarship like he was promised after his first year there. So he left Marshall but returned last year after Bob Pruitt asked him to rejoin the team. But then Pruitt left and with Bradshaw there now and next year Marshall getting the kid from Ironton, West will not have a chance to play or make the team.
  6. Guru, I believe Brewdog had another thread asking who were the best backs from EKY in the last 20 years. There was an pretty extensive list if you would like to check it out.
  7. Me too NCF. BTW congrats on your Newark Catholic on a huge win today over Fisher Catholic. :thumb:
  8. I can see that and then they could move Harrison into Highlands position to keep it a 4 team district.
  9. Well I haven't seen any of the great Louisville teams which IMO would probably be the only teams that would stack up to Glenville. They do have alot of talented players especially at the skills position. They beat a very good and solid team in Solon today 34 -14.
  10. Had Juan Thomas played football instead of baseball he would have been IMO an All-American wherever he played. As for the other backs most were small backs in terms of D-1 level although some did try to play at that level. Beach should have went to Marshall of another smaller D-1 school and he would have put up big numbers. He is a D-1 talent but not SEC D-1 talent.
  11. X will not win the state title. My money is on Cleveland Glenville, this is the school where Teddy Ginn, Jr. played and where his Dad coaches. I seen them play earlier this year and they are loaded.
  12. Good List I would add: Lawrence County - Fred Dean Tater McKenzie Eric Cantrell Webb Roberts James Storts Raceland - Michael Sammons Prestonburg- Hyden Garza
  13. Wow, this is a shocker to me. I was looking forward to coming back to KY over Thanksgiving and watching Ashland play. Congrats to Ashland on an outstanding season and Rockcastle on a huge victory at Putnam.
  14. If interested please mail resume to address above and put ATTN:Terry Nance Yes it will be a huge rebuilding job, but there is a solid feeder program in place but needs to keep kids interested as they move up. Living in London for the past 2 years they have a huge fan base with between 2500 and 3500 fans for every home game sometimes larger when playing Alder and Plains which both schools are in Madison County also. Here is a website about their schools athletics. London High School Red Raiders
  15. Last I heard he was teaching at Paintsville. If he wants to coach in Ohio I know a coaching job that came open.
  16. Do you know anything about LC football? Actually it was the 1999 team with Seniors Gerad Parker and Alan Short and company that graduated in 2000. And they were very good that year, beating Belfry at Belfry by 40 or so points. Beat Bell @ Bell by 32, Beat Rockcastle @ Rockcastle by 34. The only loss that year in the regular season, was an very hard fought emotional game against Sheldon Clark. There went all the way to the 3A state semi-finals and loss to Highlands pretty bad 76 -36. But in that game LC turned the ball over inside their own 30 ,4 times in the first half and even outgained Highlands in yardage for the whole game.
  17. They have about 11 or 12 seniors on the team with two being dismissed from the team and I believe only 4 or 5 others actually started. So if you count the last two games of the season they actually will have at least 17 starters back for next season and an majority of them will be only juniors.
  18. I believe you are wrong there. The "star player" you are referring too and another player got into trouble at school and both were dismissed from the team because of the conduct at the school. I will not go into details cause this is not the place for this. As far as internal problems, I do not know of any other than a few parents were upset with the handling of the "star players" first incident where he left the team before the Belfry game and his reinstatement. But to my understanding it the coaches asked the players on what to do and the decision was made to allow him back on the team then. Lawrence County will and should turn the corner next year, now that doesn't mean the will win the district but you will see a better offensive team and an improved defense which show flashes of being good this year. Billy Goldsmith is the right person for this job and his assistants have stood by Lawrence County the past few seasons even with all the turmoil from the last staff and for that I personally thank them for staying and helping restoring the glory of Lawrence County Football.
  19. Fred Dean from Lawrence County against Greenup County, can't remember the QB for Greenup but Fred lit him up. The coach for Greenup was Baldridge (former Morehead St. coach) said to me after the game that was the hardest hit he had ever seen including college.
  20. Anytime you have two leagues it takes away the quality of play. I remember several years ago in Louisa, there was a group of parents started a Bambino league in Fort Gay,WV although it didn't last but a couple of years the Louisa/Ft. Gay Little League has never recovered. They still have good players and good all-star teams, but the number of kids playing has dropped alot since then.
  21. I would assume; Oak Hills, Lakota East, Princeton.
  22. I believe the first computer rankings don't come out until Sept. 20th.
  23. On Ohio News Network (ONN) last night, JJ for JJ Huddle said that GCL South is probably the best conference in the Country.
  24. What I meant is that even if Colerain makes the playoffs they will NOT beat St. X. X beat Col. Desales tonight handily.
  25. Elder beat Oak Hills tonight pretty easy 42 -16. Personally it doesn't matter cause Cin St. X is the best team in Ohio.
