  1. Petrino was absolutely amazing against Male. Heyman's tremendous one handed interception return for a TD with 6:30 left in the game gave Male 34-23 lead. Petrino led an unbelievable 80 yard drive for a TD and followed that with a 2 pt conversion in less than 2 minutes. Trinity held and petrino took them near 80 yards for the game winning td and there was still over 2 minutes left. Beaumont is a great player but the star of that game was Nick Petrino, his iron will and determination to win, rallied the Rocks to one of their greatest victories.
  2. This is the season all BCS haters have waited for. I think it is wonderful to totally expose this biased system for the political farce that it really is. Who will play the Buckeyes? Let's see: Who played the hardest conference schedule? Who played the hardest OOC schedule? Whose one loss was closest to a win? Is better to lose early or lose late? Boise St goes undefeated and gets no consideration. Can a league runnerup be NC? Is a close loss worse than a rout? Hey guys, relax, none of it matters. We got a computer that decides the National Championship.
  3. Now that is a good idea. I know 6 good cupcakes, how about Texas St., Central Michigan, La. Monroe, Vandy, Ole Miss and Miss St. How did UK get them all to commit. UL gets them to schedule but they always back out.
  4. I agree if Arkansas goes 12-1 they deserve a first shot over Michigan's second shot. League runnersup should not get a second chance.
  5. The Big East has 6 Bowl eligible teams.
  6. It hard to get around that one.
  7. I believe an 8 team playoff to decide a NC would be tremendous. As far as money why not look at what the people who run the NFL do. They have some expertise in making money. The BCS bowl games are chump change compared to those guys. Super Bow XL, not counting the NFC Playoffs and NFC title games or the AFC playoffs and the AFC title game had an economic impact of $302 million. The NCAA BB Tournament seems much bigger than the NBA Finals to me. So why don't people think the NCAA football Tournament would be as big or bigger than the NFL playoffs.
  8. Serious as a heart attack, Do it all the time. Feel free to do it yourself. There is no harm in it. Everybody still refers back to last year's Sugar Bowl all the time. I personally would love to use only games that have been played this year but that can't happen. There's 2 problems, there are certain teams who are in the BCS click that won't schedule anyone that is capable of beating them outside of their conference (unless it's another BCS Click Team) and secondly, you have the BCS committee always making sure that the click teams play one another in their bowls so that nobody else but one of the gang gets a shot at their mythical title. Manrule #112 --If teams are afraid to schedule your favorite teams you may use games from as far back as 3 seasons for comparisons when posting on websites.
  9. Just talking about a UL-OSU matchup, a WVU-Michigan game or Rutgers-Wisconsin is fun. I not revealing my picks because I am biased on this one. I would love to see it not because I think The Big East would dominate all the time but I just think these are the types of games that we as fans deserve to see. I bet you said "Wow" after the Sugar Bowl last year. There is parity in college football. Think Fla-OSU, Ark-Mich and Auburn, LSU vs Wisconsin a minute. Good games iall, in fact I think I'd pick OSU, Ark and UA/LSU. We need a playoff, this political crap that we have now is pitiful. All we ever get is a mythical champion.
  10. Ga Tech is the weakest of the BCS champs they should play Boise St. UL should get Texas, Michigan, ND or FLA/Ark.
  11. Let's start with the Big East getting no respect. Not True. The Big East has had 3 different teams in the ranked in the top 6 in the country this year by the coaches poll and the AP poll. That's R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!!!!! I'll take the top 3 in the Big East against any other league in the country's top 3. Who has UL beat? UL Romped over the Cats by 31 points, who are bowl bound playing for 2ND place in the SEC East. UL didn't just beat Miami they thrashed em 31-7 when they were ranked #17, no one else has beaten Miami by more than 10 this year, UL hammered bowl bound K-State second in the Big 12 North 24-7 at home and they went on to beat beat mighty #2 ranked Texas, UL beat a undefeated #3 ranked WVU (last years Sugar bowl champ), UL has also beaten bowl bound So Fla and UC. If UL beats Pitt Saturday they could finish 7-1 against teams that go to bowl games this year. One more game that some may not remember, that Oregon State team that beat USC the other day was trounced on their home field last year by the Cards 63-27. If not for the upset at Rutgers, these Cards would probably be playing OSU for the title.
  12. Just about all the schools from the BCS conferences that are on the top of the food chain and ND have discovered that you don't get credit for a tough OOC game and they have quit scheduling them.
  13. Am I hearing a proposition about road losses to Oregon State?
  14. New Man Rules: #1 Any team that can not win its conference championship (Mich) and; #2 Any team that loses by 26 points on their home field (ND) shall not play for NC. All signify by saying AY. Any opposed. Both Rules are is passed. It's unamimous.
  15. Yesterday I saw an OSU team that was very beatable, I didnot see any defensive juggernaut nor offensive machine. I believe that Fla, Ark, USC, WVU, and Louisville are all better than Michigan offensively and could play OSU better than Michigan. ND has already proved they can't beat Michigan.
  16. It must be great to be Michigan. You lose to the only good team in your league and finish second in a league in which your other 9 members lose 28 of their 29 games against teams ranked in the top 25. The teams on your schedule have combined to win 3 out of 27 games against ranked opponents. The 3 big wins are Vandy beating #16 Georgia (now out of the top 25), ND beating #19 Penn St (now out of the top 25) and Indiana beating #15 Iowa ( now out of the top 25). Still you remain the consensus #2 pick in the BCS. Michigan has beaten noone who has beaten noone but because they are #2 in the BIG TEN they supposedly are head and shoulders above everyone else. Sorry but if you aren't #1 in your conference you are not entitled to play for the NC period. Close only counts in horseshoes.
  17. Michigan is a fine team but their are 5 other confernce champions that deserve a first shot at a NC before they get a second shot. The Big Ten excluding Mich and OSU were 1-28 against ranked opponents this year the one win was Indiana over Iowa when Iowa was ranked. That is a weak league.
  18. If the BEast only gets one BCS bid then the Ville will have to lose one of its final 2 games in order for WVU to go.
  19. Great win for UC !!!! Keep up the great work. Thanks from all Card fans. The Big East season this year was unbelievably competitive. With 4 of the 8 teams having a win over atleast one nationally ranked team. With 2 weeks to go the BE still has 3 of our 8 teams in position to go to a BCS game and 6 teams that are bowl eligible.
  20. Now that would be a huge win for the Cats and they are capable.
  21. I'll will go with the Big Ten's top 2 but #3 Wisconsin has played only one ranked team and lost, #4 Penn St is 0-4 against ranked teams and #5 Purdue is 0-3.
  22. The Big Ten teams' records in games with opponents that were ranked in the top 25 when they played this year is 6-29 take out the BIG TWO Mich and OSU and the liitle 8's record against ranked teams is 1-28.
  23. I thought these 2 were supposed to be good on defense this looks like a WAC game.
  24. Let's get Glen Este and Sycamore to play CovCath and Highlands and then we'll talk.
  25. Male can play with anybody any day anywhere and definitely deserves their national ranking. Every year we have these people come on here and tells us how great Ohio football is. Here is a FACT: If Colerain High school which is in the Ohio D-1 Semifinals wins the Ohio state championship this year it will be the 5th straight year that a Cincinnati team has won the D-1 title in Ohio. That is called domination of the state not parity. So just because some believe that Cincy St X and Colerain would beat Male does not in anyway mean that the rest of Ohio could. Louisville Trinity and St. X have consistently proved that they can play with and in some years beat the best Cincy teams, so obviously the same can be said for Male. Congrats to Male on their great season and the highest national ranking in a national poll, ever in Kentucky High School Footbll history. You were absolute warriors last night.
