The latest word from Fred Cowgill is that Matt is fine with the new coach and is still in the fold.

The Big East had an excellent record against the other BCS conferences during the regular season this year. When I first saw the drawings for the bowl games I thought the Big East would win the Bowl Challenge Cup and I was really shocked that they couldn't find a Top 10 team to play either UL, Rutgers or WVU in a bowl game, all of them were ranked in the top 6 at some point this season. Could you even imagine this happening to the SEC, Big Ten or Pac 10.

Congrats to the Big East for topping off their great regular season by winning the Bowl Challenge Cup. All 5 of the Big East's bowl teams won their bowl games.

The reason we need a playoff is because before the season even starts less than half of the 119 D-1 schools have a true chance to win the NC in 2007.

Wake deserves tremendous credit for their defensive effort fot the first 3 quarters and especially for forcing turnovers. Skinner was tremendous against a ferocious pass rush, constantly scrambling to find wide open receivers in tough 3rd down situations. The UL defense bent but they never broke for those first 3 quarters and in the 4th they dominated. When things looked their worst at 13-10 Wake, Brohm reached down like the great ones do and found a way to right his ship, the entire offense reacted and the Cards as they have many times this season began their methodical marches to the endzone and when that happens its trophy time. Congrats to the Cards and Coach Petrino!!! And thanks for covering the spread.

For fact no. I do know that any mid major team going 12-0 or 11-1 every year like Boise (59-5 over the last 5 years) would take a home an home with any BCS conference team. In the last 10 years Boise has only found 1 BCS taker for a home and home that I am aware of, Oregon St. Wash St gave them a 2 for 1. Over the same period Boise has played South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas, Wisconsin and UCLA on the road with no return games. The problem with these one game contracts is the opponent may not have a great year in which case Boise wouldn't get any credit for it even if they did win. Upgrading your schedule after yesterday will get much much harder for Boise. SEC, Big Ten and PAC 12 are not looking for tough OOC games against Boise, they are looking for La. Monroe, Duke, Temple etc.

Greatest coaching display I have ever seen!!!!! Absolutely Brilliant!!! Why don't they upgrade their schedule?? Boise has been trying that for 6 years, look at the OOC schedules for most of the BCS big boys, they have discovered that there are a lot easier marks than Boise.

Both teams looked offensively inept in the first half, ( oh, that's right it was great defense). In the second half (29-15 USC) the defenses suffered and it became apparent that USC has been forced to use the pass all season while Michigan's passing game which is decent has been plan "B" most of the season because in their league nobody could stop plan "A" often enough. Thank goodness they didn't get the rematch.

Agreed you can't let everybody in the playoffs and some 7-5 teams will say they are left out unfairly. Under the current system they are leaving out teams that are conference champions with 0 and one loss.

How excited would the entire state of Kentucky be this week if the Music City Bowl was our first round game and we were headed to Indy next Saturday for a quarterfinal game against Rutgers, Cal, Oklahoma State or even ND. Think they would have any trouble selling out. It would be fantastic to decide the NC on the field instead of having some biased sports writers, athletic directors, computer operators decide who the best teams are. OSU, Michigan and Florida may well be the best but they should have to prove it on the field instead of letting people like Lou Holtz and his cronies decide. THERE IS A BETTER WAY!!!!

Congrats to all the Cat fans for repesenting our state well. You are on the road there is still a climb ahead but the team I saw play today has what it takes to get there. Those Cats today realized they can play as well as anybody, yes anybody on a given day.

Obviously Brohm was not thinking about money, when he chose UL over ND, USC, OSU and the few others that are allowed to have Heisman winners not just candidates.

The money has never been a factor before in a BB football decision, I think he loves UL and wants another shot at a NC.

Way to go Cards' fans. Let's sell 50,000 tickets. The BCS committee did their best to prepetuate the Myth for another year (the 4th best team in the SEC and ND) but in doing so they have left the BEast is in an excellent position to dominate the bowl season. And now they have admitted these teams are not the best available but they do draw well.

LSU is actually 4th in the SEC (3rd in the SEC West) by virtual of their regular season loss to Auburn. I don't care how many fans you bring the 4th place team in any league should never go to a BCS bowl.
