  1. Best of luck tonight to Lawrence Co....may the storybook season continue to roll!
  2. These are my sentiments exactly. Honestly, it’s opportunities such this which captures the heart of any competitor. It’s opportunities such as this which separates warriors from wannabes. I believe Raceland has a few warriors, some known, some ready to make it known. The stage is set for Raceland to accomplish something truly remarkable and memorable. Nothing can change the past…but Raceland sure has an opportunity to make and extraordinary statement with this next game. Undoubtedly, LCA has improved over the season. Likewise, this Raceland team which will take the field on Friday will be significantly different than the one which traveled to Lexington last October.
  3. Congratulations Pburg! Best of luck next week.
  4. WOW! Games like this, it’s just a shame anyone has to lose. Tough way to end the season, but then, I don’t suppose there is an easy way.
  5. Doesn’t the start of this season seem like ages ago? The Rams certainly have survived a tumultuous start and have endured the sort of challenges that would doom a team of less character and pride. Great job Raceland and congratulations on making it back to the Regional Championship Game! Keep on believing and take the next step forward…one game at a time, one play at a time…focus and win.
  6. Congrats to LCA on the second round win and to Fairview for their winning 8 – 4 season.
  7. Congrats to Central. No squeaker here…this was a convincing win. Best of luck to the Eagles next week.
  8. The remarkable story book season continues… Keep it up Dawgs!
  9. Best of luck tonight Rams! I hope the fun is just beginning!
  10. This was an abrupt end to a nice season for the Tomcats. Congratulations on getting the nine wins. Tough, tough loss tonight though. Dixie wanted it, and took it. Good luck next week.
  11. Ive read about that "situation"....too funny. For the record, no offense will be taken...Dixie can run its sideline however it sees fit.
  12. With the numbers he has logged this season, I didn’t think Wilson would be one-dimensional. I am really looking forward to seeing this game…particularly the battle between QB’s. This is going to be a defensive backs dream game…..this Tomcat is hoping it’s not a nightmare. :scared:
  13. Best of luck tonight Rams. I’m still working on that being-in-two-places-at-one-time thing…but for tonight, I will be at venue other than Ram Stadium. I hope the game with LC is decided quickly and decisively.
  14. Dixie's QB, Wilson, has amassed over 2,200 yards this year…that aint chump change. One of the big questions for me is how much protection will his O-Line afford him this evening? Can he make good reads and execute consistently? Is Wilson purely a drop back passer or does he roll out well too? I look for Coach Love to have something special for this challenging Dixie team. Tomcat corners and DB’s have a great opportunity to step up and deliver tonight….D Line needs to put relentless pressure up front…Backers need to own the middle.
  15. I am very excited about this game. From all reports, Ashland’s D will be tested quickly and often. Personally, I love to watch a passing attack…if I coached, I would throw the ball 75% of the time (which is one of many reasons why I need to remain a fan in the stands). Dixie has all the ingredients to be a very formidable opponent and I doubt their record is indicative of just how talented this group really is. Its playoff time and anything can happen. Field conditions for tonight’s contest will be good. With just a couple of exceptions, the playing field is solid and dry. From my vantage point, the natural turf is in outstanding shape considering the time of year and how many games have been played on it.
  16. I agree Commander...but then, I’m still in a state of disbelief from the 2003 episode.
  17. All those Tomcat “starters” running over that “freshman”? What do you expect Ashland do?...put in a cheerleader?...a trainer?...how about the mascot? “Taunting (your) fan section after every TD”? Surely not! Not at a Boyd/Ashland football game. Face it. Boyd Co football has suffered for years. Under one of my favorite area coaching legends, former Tomcat, Bill Tom Ross, Boyd had a record of 22 – 21 (1998 – 2001) with only ONE winning season. Then comes Dane Damron, who’s cumulative record was 24 – 22 with ONE winning regular season (2002). Now you have yet another Tomcat coach at the helm in Lee Evans with a cumulative record of 18 – 27 with TWO winning seasons. As for your reference that Ashland “did try to run the score up”…well, if that had been the case, Boyd would have been beaten by 64 instead of 46. I sense your frustration though, and I would be too (hey, Im a UK football fan…nuff said)…but don’t take such a sour grape approach to this Tomcat win…take a look at your own program and fix it. I MISS THIS GAME BEING A RIVALRY!
  18. I believe it was 7 yards of total offense (3-rushing, 4-passing). This annual match-up just isnt what it used to be. Congratulations Tomcats on finishing the regular season at 9 – 1. Best of luck in getting ready for the second season.
  19. ^^^ 1) Is there any other school in northeastern Kentucky that will be able to compete with Ashland in the next few years? ABSOLUTELY. 2) What in the world happened to make Ashland suddenly so good? Actually, it wasn’t sudden at all. Coach Hart came out of the gates quickly when arriving at Ashland in support of the JFL and Middle School. We are now seeing the fruits of that labor. 3) Does Ashland have a chance at a state title with any of these upcoming classes we have heard so much about? This is the most difficult one to answer, IMO. The Tomcats have a fantastic sophomore class right now and I believe that particular group has a shot at making the championship game. Also, with the younger JFL’ers…who knows what talent may lie there.
  20. I’m with those who think this game will be closer than expected. Boyd has been known to play opponents well when they are notable underdogs. Add the diming relevance of this game as a rivalry, home field advantage; being coached by a former Tomcat…this one could go undecided until late in the game.
  21. Im not sure....sounds like a good thread for you to start LRCW. Ah...a voice of reason!
  22. It most certainly would be an upset. However the "biggest upset"??...c'mon. Congrats to the Cats on their win against Woodford... Next up....and old arch rival in Boyd Co.
  23. Oh boy....KHSAA, in all their wisdom, is going to have fun with this situation.
