  1. As of yesterday, I am now a closet LCA fan. That is, after receiving a phone call from my cousin who “informed” me his son is a freshman lineman/JV player for the Eagles. So…Congrats to LCA! And, great job by Hayden on breaking a very old state record.
  2. What a fantastic story…Lawrence Co Football 2009. As a former rival of Ashland’s, I remember how ridiculously passionate Bulldog fans are about their team. This has got to be one of the greatest turnarounds ever with a football team. Keep up the good work and best of luck for the remainder of the season! It sounded like Boyd played well tonight too, but just ran up against a better team. Im glad to see the Lions haven’t quit on the season.
  3. Congrats to the Musketeers. This has been a roller coaster year for GC…any win is a good one. Keep up the good work!
  4. Great, great win for Raceland. I know the community is abuzz right now and they should be. It sounds like the Rams have found their stride. This certainly was a team win but I am in amazement at the game Farley and Barr had…and yes, I know their success was made possible by those under publicized linemen...great job fellas! Congratulations to all the players and coaches. This team is ready for the playoffs!
  5. I know there is still time on the clock...but congrats to LCA and Mr. Hayden.
  6. Lewis Co up 6 - 0. Sorry but that was all that was reported.
  7. Touchdown Raceland...Farley to Barr pass...2pt conversion fails. Raceland 20 Russell 15 Ram QB Farley is on tonight. Very late in the 3rd Qtr
  8. Sounds more like a baseball score from these two programs.
  9. FWIW...score on another 1A team: At the half - Russell 15 ~ Raceland 14
  10. I imagine most fields are in poor shape tonight...both with rain and this late in the season.
  11. Dang. I thought LCA would be up by 2 scores by now.
  12. Then.... Touché. Well stated Ram04…LOL…That was exactly the thought which crossed my mind…
  13. I was deliberately avoiding the reference to Coaches Scott and Conley, but that is exactly the era I was remembering. Back in the day….District Championships were won or lost in that final game of the season….Lions vs Tomcats. Wow…that was a lifetime ago. Good luck to the Lions tonight.
  14. All-Tournament Team Ashley Gilmar (Greenup County), Melissa Reis (Lewis County), Christina Baldridge (Raceland), Jordan Smith (Russell), Danielle Howell (Raceland), Lindsey Wolfe (Russell), Jesi Flanery (Raceland), Rachel Ison (Russell). MVP: Breanna Grubb (Raceland).
  15. As a devout Tomcat and card carrying member of AARP, I still look at Boyd Co as the most dastardly of arch rivals. I know “The County” football program has struggled over the years in trying to recapture the success enjoyed decades ago. Seeing them struggle is somewhat akin to the My Enemy, My Friend perspective. It just doesn’t seem right that Boyd is not relevant in football… I do think the Lions will prevail tonight though. Like Boyd…Greenup has aspirations of rebuilding what was once a successful program but I believe the Lions get their first road win of the season. Boyd builds on last week’s victory and keeps the Musketeers in check.
  16. David vs Goliath. Rudy…Rudy…Rudy…. Go Huskers! “I play, coach stays. He goes, I go.”… "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!”… I sure do love the underdog role. The stage is really set for something special to happen tonight and perhaps another chapter in Ram-lore will be written. There is more to this game than statistics or W/L records…”Do you believe in miracles?”… **Unrelated Raceland Note** Congratulations to the Lady Rams on their 2009 District Championship in volleyball. On Thursday evening, Raceland defeated Russell for the crown. Great job girls!:dancingpa
  17. This unbelievable turnaround continues. Although I expected to see LC win this game, I certainly didn’t anticipate such a lopsided score. Congratulation Dawgs on the victory and best of luck the remainder of your season.
  18. WAY TO GO RAMS!:thumb: Congratulations on getting this one. Im glad at least one Eagle team lost tonight….wish it could have been two.:madman:
  19. I really dont want to come off making any excuses because there arent any. Central wanted this game more at critical times. Matney used all three timeouts early in the 1st quarter...it was clear JC wanted to set the tone of this game and they did it. To Ashland's credit, they came out in the 3rd qtr and played like we are accustomed to seeing...took the lead, but seemed to simply take thier collective foot off the gas. Hand it to JC though...as I said earlier...the Eagles did what they had to do.
  20. Congratulations to Johnson Central. The Eagles did what they had to do, when they had to do it. No excuses for Ashland…they had many, many chances to win this game but came up short.
  21. That was one heck of a game! I believe this game will be closer than most think. Let's just hope it doesn’t come down to a field goal or some trick half-back pass play as time expires.
  22. This is a game I would like to see tonight. I have had a look at GC (Go Carter) already but am starting to enjoy this Cinderella story coming out of Lawrence Co. Good luck tonight to both groups and may the best team win.
