  1. My point with this is that Highlands is probably thinking that it is more convenient from a travel standpoint to play an Elder than to play Trinity.
  2. The argument that Highlands dodges Trinity during the regular season in order to avoid being labeled second fiddle to Trinity is puzzling to me. From 2010 until this year, Highlands has scrimmaged Trinity, and in all but one of those years (2010) Trinity handled Highlands pretty convincingly. If Highlands was so concerned about the appearance of playing runner-up to Trinity, then wouldn't it make more sense for Highlands to avoid any kind of game or competition with Trinity, in order to avoid the head-to-head comparison? As others have written, Highlands plays a top-tier Cincinnati school almost every year, and Highlands is almost always the underdog in these games. Given how impressive Trinity has been in the recent past (heck, they won the MNC two years ago), wouldn't it "look better" for Highlands to play and probably lose against Trinity during the regular season, than to play and probably lose against a program like Elder???
  3. I want to send out a special thanks to Mr. Graham from Fort Thomas Matters and Mr. Skinner from the Enquirer for their outstanding write-ups about this game. Thanks guys! The work you do in covering these games is much appreciated, especially by those of us who live far away. Go 'Birds!!!!
  4. Question: if Highlands and Johnson Central face each other in the playoffs this year, where will the game be played? Also, if HHS makes it to the state semifinal game, where will that game be played this year?
  5. What relationship is he to the former HHS teacher, Mrs. Giglia?
  6. Will he be the first guy picked in the draft, given that Clowney has been struggling/hurt?
  7. How big of a team numbers wise does PT have? What teams are the top 3A teams in the western bracket this year? I have always liked PT and hope they build on this performance and make a deep playoff run.
  8. Congrats to Highlands on the win! I hope PT has a great season the rest of the way.
  9. With this game and the John Hardin game last week, either western Kentucky prep football is way underrated or HHS has taken a step back since the Bryan Station game.
  10. Wow! Someone had mentioned about Harris not playing. Anyone know how many Highlands starters are sitting this one out? Hang in there, 'Birds!
  11. For what it's worth, I am very glad Calipari is at UK, and he seems to be a pretty good dude. I do worry that he and his program will be scrutinized a great deal more than, say, Duke, because of Calipari's perceived baggage. I hope UK beats the snot out of UNC this year. I love to see Ole Roy in misery on the sideline.
  12. So, what time (Eastern time) does this game actually start?
  13. Good question. When Wall was penalized, was UK penalized as well, or just Wall? I thought it was just Wall. In my original question, I am talking about an instance when the UK men's basketball program is penalized.
  14. You are right, but I am a UK fan and I care more about UK than other programs. I think we all know that Calipari is probably scrutinized more than most, and UK does not exactly have a clean record going all the way back to the 1950s. I think it is a fair question to ask.
  15. I would say that the UK coaching staff will do whatever they think can be done to win as many games as possible this year, and if that means burning Towles' redshirt for him to take one snap in one game, they will do it without blinking an eye if they think it will get them another win this year. A lot of the current coaching staff seems to be relatively young guys who have not proven themselves at the highest level. Every week they are coaching for the sake of their professional livelihoods, and they know that they will only get so much time to right the ship before being shipped out themselves (which is what will happen to most of them anyway, just like what happened to the previous coaching staff).
  16. You are right... The A&M coaches had equal time to prepare. But I think most people would say that preparation time typically favors the team with the better coaching staff. Either A&M's offensive coaching staff is just as good or better than Alabama's defensive coaching staff, or Manziel is the greatest college QB in the history of the game, and no one can stop him. Does any reasonable person really believe that giving up 42 points represents an acceptable defensive performance?
  17. Let's see... an entire offseason to prepare for this game, a bye week last week, and the best talent in the nation, and still 42 points surrendered. Either the Alabama defensive coaching staff is overrated or the A&M QB is the greatest college QB all-time.
