The only relationship between Toyota and SC is they are both in Gtown and they sponsor the Toyota Classic. I wonder how many times that has to be stated? I cant imagine any of the kids that are already on the team leaving. There will likely be no impact upcoming sophomores on this coming years version of the Cardinals. Kids could leave, but I think if any did they would have been marginal contributors at SC even without the transfers. I would not be surprised to see one of the talented 8th grade class leave town, and I am not talking about Manning.

You said every year. That was a pretty big difference.

I should be there every day, all day. Section 31 row X. LMB will be with me for most of the sessions. Who else will make it?

Transfers...
Hate that I missed all the discussion over the weekend about the Euton transfer. Definitely now wish I was not in Atlanta. I have heard from a realtor friend that the Eutons have already been looking for houses in Scott Co., and the Demling article pretty much seals it that Euton is headed for SC. I have heard the possibilities of Jackson coming as well, but I dont know what the basis would be. I know that Euton, Guyn and Jackson are on the same AAU team, so there is a connection there. If the KHSAA rules on this on a case by case basis it makes eligibility for Jackson seem interesting. Rumors have a talented 8th grader transferring in next year and attending the 9th grade orientation. No details on any of that yet. Should be exciting to watch SC next year regardless if anything else happens. They could be considered immediate favorites for the state title.

Now that the....
It is ridiculous to whine about the drive. Regions all around the state rotate the site and have to deal with a drive. In the 13th teams are going to travel 1.5 hours to 2 hours for some regional locations. They are on the rotating to each district each year. It happens all over the state, its a sorry excuse.

And now that I think of it, I probably would take the walk on spot at UK. There are way too many advantages to it.

I'm not in that situation, so I'm really not sure. If a kid comes to UK to walk on, especially an in-state guy, he can very much so set himself up for great things after college. If the kid gets a reputation of staying out of trouble, being a hard worker, and being personable with the media and fans I would say it is very likely he could set himself up for a lot of things after college. Tons of business love to have a face from the UK program to associate with their business. You didn't hear about Dusty Mills, because he is a completely different scenario. Dusty is from Ohio or Indiana. Whichever it is, he is not an in-state kid. Also, he won the walk on tryout prior to the season. It isnt like he was a kid that was a very good high school player with a following of in-state fans and was asked to walk on to the team. It doesnt mean you are set for life, but you can point yourself in that direction if you do and say the right things. If you are an above average player at any of the other state schools besides UK or UL, you really have no chance at saying something like that is an option.

I'm sure those guys know too. L-Tech is in the news so much nowadays...

Malone said that? Then thats a recruiting violation. Better hope Arrez doesnt go there. Seriously, I doubt Malone has ever said that about anyone. He knows better and I think you know better too.

Some people are big UK fans. Cameron Mills could have played a lot of places at a lower level. There have been several come through like that. I dont see why you would say a kid is on an ego trip for thinking about walking on at his favorite school. Heck, we still remember guys like Heissenbuttel and Svoboda to this day. Do you think we would ever talk about them if they had went to Transy, etc. You set yourself up for good things being with the UK program.

More athletic than Ramel. Have you ever played with Ramel? I have. You dont realize how athletic and how great these guys handle the ball just watching them, you need to play with them. I find it very hard to believe any high school kid is more athletic than a first team SEC PG.

Who are the top 15 players in the 2008 "Sweet 16"?
I can fill it up. Lots of other kids in the tourney can too, doesnt mean they are one of the best players. I'm not impressed. He's also a walk on. What scholarship offers did he have? He's a taller kid that can shoot. If you are 6'5 or so, you better be able to do more than just shoot. I have seen no evidence of anything else. I dont knock. I call them like I see them. He can shoot, but what else?

Have not heard of Stepp having a walk on offer. Slone has gotten the offer, but this is the first I have heard about Stepp.

Definitely take Whitaker from Hazard over Smart. He does nothing but stand around and wait for a teammate to draw a defender so he can shoot.
