Well, Pikeville beat Paintsville 7-1 to avenge an early season loss and win the game that matters more. Pikeville still has work to do to represent the 15th, but I would think they are the favorite. 16th Region starts Saturday.

I've noticed some of the All "A" Regional Baseball Tournaments have started up. Who are the favorites in each Region? Looks like the 15th is gonna be between Pikeville and Paintsville.

Wow sounds like some quality cathers in the 16th this year. Especially since Barr from Geenup wasn't mentioned and he is a good quality catcher. Where are the Cornwell and Back kids from?

what kind of lifting are you talking about? I suggest once you start throwing, to reduce the upper body lifting to minimal if not delete it all together. The torque and strain that is already being placed on the shoulder and elbow is enough without adding weig lifting recovery. Upper body lifting in-season and lots of throwing is a receipe for injury, IMO. Now core work and leg work is a different story.

I totally agree that the Junior year is a cut point for a team unless they have a lot of seniors. Sure maybe the young man was on the team as a Freshman and Sophmore, because maybe the coach saw potential. High School boys grow at different times. Some high school boys don't work as hard as others. But if a kid hasn't worked hard or not developed like a coach had hoped and doesn't appear to be in the Varsity plans, should he take innings and at bats away from a young up and coming player. Keep in mind the JV program is a development tool for Varsity. Its not a local rec league.

6'7 Junior and 35 points a game should have his name being mentioned at some big schools already I would think.

Kyle Skaggs - Freshman from Russell is leading the Varsity in scoring. Has started Varsity since the 7th grade. He has to be on this list.

Last I heard, Russell up 31-13 with 5 minutes to go. Fleming outscored Russell 13-0 in third quarter off 2 Russell turnovers.

Midway through the third 24-7 Russell. Fleming Intercepted a Russell pass. Looks like the may make a game of it.
