  1. The ONE factor that keeps me from voting for my team is... the 3 Titles by the Panthers. Prestonsburg's fan base, history, and facilities are comparible. But the Titles make the difference. :bunny:
  2. Unless he could get a waiver (which are harder to come by), he'd lose a year of eligibility. Of course, that would still leave his Sr. year to play elsewhere.
  3. Congrats to Central... Good luck in Lexington. :thumb:
  4. Kidd's foul trouble was HUGE in this one. Very enjoyable game - congrats to Betsy Layne on a fine run at season's end.
  5. Many have said the goals had little play. I think I agree. Soft shots on the front of the iron wouldn't stick and roll. :bunny:
  6. This has been a WILD tourney so far and anyone can beat anyone else. With that said, IMO, Betsy Layne has played the best basketball in the first round games. >20 assists says a LOT. :bunny:
  7. sadly... there were a LOT of players that had a "huge game" against P-burg last year. :sssh:  Please don't take what I'm saying as a slant against the young man in question. He's well liked in P-burg and a fine player to boot. :thumb:
  8. That's certainly the most popular reason stated. (Another is...not winning the starting job at the desired position at the previous school) The two biggest problems for Belfry in getting back to Louisville: 1. There's no Howard. 2. There's no Jones.
  9. Well... there's nothing new about that. I'm sure you remember, there was also one last year. Isn't the past transfer expected to take over the QB job for the Pirates next season ?!? :sssh:
  10. "YOUR side of town" ?? Ulysses (my "town") is in Lawrence Co...or...you mean P-burg ?
  11. Any current updates on the number of expected "education-seeking" athletes from the wrong side of the Tug Fork ? :sssh:
  12. Maybe OCath is receiving a few votes from T and X fans. The parochial schools are pretty tight about their football... :sssh:
  13. Wow, if there were ever a poll that shows how little football history many members have, this is it. Owensboro over everyone else....easily and without question.
  14. Absolute BARN-burner of a game !! This one was never separated by more than 5-6 points throughout. A difference between the two teams finally developed when Prestonsburg center Sean Leslie fouled out with ~1:15 left in the 1st OT. Great matchup of two VERY closely matched teams... (and I don't even care for basketball...LOL) :thumb: :thumb:
  15. Don't know, but it's a bad time for the wheels to start coming off... :sssh:
  16. If those 6 things aren't done/provided for...it won't work. Occasionally a particular school will have a strong group of athletes that'll fool fans into thinking a program's coming around. But that's nothing but fool's gold.
  17. Coacher already gave you the answer...
  18. It's an understandable move by the city BOE. The gate $$ is something the school's athletic fund would find hard to replace.
  19. Sure...with Somerset's ONE year "domination" of 1A Region 4, winning the 2A Title would be nothing. :sssh: :sssh:
  20. But do ANY of those applying satisfy these parameters ?? 1) Older than 20. 2) Have a teaching certificate. 3) Isn't a player parent that thinks he can "do better". :sssh: (j/k)
  21. The two biggest reasons Elder could have the "biggest following for an away game" in this one: 1. Elder is a BIG school (lots of students, parents, alumni, etc.) 2. It's not exactly a "long trip on narrow, winding roads". (FWIW, X and T in KY have large following crowds for the same reason. To be fair, though, X has played some out in the state)
  22. I'm getting a kick out of Prestonsburg and Belfry doing so well this season. Not bad for the two strongest football-minded schools, eh ?!? :thumb:
