Here in Danville my grass is as green as it has always been. Just by looking out through out my yard this morning, there is water standing on the ground under the gutters from dew coming off the house. The dog is drenced from just going out to the bathroom. I guess the dew is the reason, because in the past week it has not rained.
Wished I could say that. I've not missed a beat and if anything, 5 days after mowing it's ready again. Can't even make a full week until it's ready to be mowed again.
I'd say the defense is getting an ear full this week. With Franklin scoring in the 70's last week and JC running outside last week, I'm sure French will have them firing on all cylinders against Franklin County.
Last week I would have picked Rockcastle, but after the Mason County game, Danville looks to be improved from last year. I'll take the Ads in a close game.
1. Danville's overtime win over Mayfield in the State Championship.
2. 2001 Boyle's win on the road over Hopkinsville. Boyle's first year in 3A.
3. Not sure of the year (1976? maybe) Boyle over Harrodsburg's Henry Parks and Company. Kip Smallwood for Boyle scored in the final seconds of a tie game to get the big upset.
4. 1982 Boyle's win over Somerset. Somerset had the best team in 2A that year and lost a heartbreaker on a 2 point conversation that failed. Back in 82 only the district champions advanced to the playoffs. The overall best team in 2A didn't make the playoffs.
5. Boyle over Paducah Tilghman back in 2003. This was the game everyone gave Boyle no chance to pull off on the road with Casey and Cantwell. Boyle won and advanced on to take 5 straight titles.
It was hard to do. IMO it's more difficult running in this type of race just becasue you have to stay alert at all times with people everywhere through out the 3.1 miles.
I just got thru running the "Mid Summer Nights Run" in downtown Lexington this past weekend. I had a PR and ran the the whole 3.1 without walking. Came in the top half of the final results. Had a blast and look forward to my next 5K this weekend at Railroad Days. Since I've started taking better care of myself this year, I've done a 10K and 4 5K's this summer, the results have been 97 pounds lost.
