Campbell County improves to 4-1 with a 11-1 six inning win over Dixie. Austin Studer goes four for four with his second homer of the season and three RBI. Jordan Franzen was two for four with a two run homer as well and Travis Hurd knocked in two while collecting three hits. Hurd goes the distance scattering four hits and striking out eight. Camels are off until Saturday when Beechwood comes to Campbell County to take on the home team. :dancingpa

The Campbell County - Calvary game was rained out with the Camels winning 5-0 in the third inning. The game will be replayed at a later date.

Junior Jordan Woodruff takes a no hitter into the seventh and goes the distance after giving up two hits in the seventh as the Camels win 6-1 at Maysville. Danny Jenkins had two hits including a two RBI double for the Camels. Mike Sandlin added a double as well for the Camels. Woodruff strikes out 10 improving to 2-0 on the season. The Camel JV won 23-0 in four innings in the first game. Next up for the Varsity is a trip to Calvary Christian tomorrow for a district game. Camels are now 3-1 on the season. :ylsuper:

Travis Hurd pitches a no hitter, striking out nine, for the Camels in his first start of the 2007 season. Looks like Hurd is all the way back from a twisted ankle in the preseason. Camels get double digits in hits for the third time this season and improve to 2-1 Jordan Franzen has two hits, Brandon Griffin two doubles and Chris Harrison drives in two. Highlight of the game for the Wildcats was a triple play in the fifth when the Camels had two on and no outs. A hard hit line drive was turned into a triple play with the Camel players on base running. Newport drops to 0-3. Next up for the Camels is a trip to Mason Co. Monday for a V-JV doubleheader against the Royals. :ylsuper:

Campbell JV wins over Harrison on a walk off home run by Jon Verst in the bottom of the seventh.

The Campbell County Varsity game at Harrison County today has been cancelled due to wet grounds. The Harrison County JV - Campbell JV game scheduled at Campbell County is still on.

Camels drop a wild one to the state's fourth ranked team 12-10 at Lexington Christian. The Camels put up three in the first and LCA came back with four of their own in their half of the first. Mike Sandlin hit a grand slam for the Camels in the second and LCA added one in their half to make the score 7-5 Camels after two. The Eagles score three in the third to take an 8-7 lead. Camels tie it in the top of the fourth and LCA scored four in the bottom to take a 12-8 lead. One in the sixth for the Camels and one in the seventh makes it a 12-10 final. Camels had two on when the final out was made. Austin Studer had three hits for the Camels, Jordan Franzen two and Sandlin added the slam. Chris Harrison and John Roetting pitch for the Camels. Camels are now 1-1, heading to Harrison County Thursday. LCA is now 2-0 on the season.

Camels open the season with a 6-3 win at home over Highlands. Brandon Griffin had three hits including two doubles and a single. Chris Harrison, Jordan Franzen, and Austin Studer added two hits each, including Studer's two run blast in the Camels four run third. Jordan Woodruff gets the win, pitching five solid innings and Patrick Allen takes the loss for Highlands. Allen pitched a complete game and had a two run homer of his own. The Camels travel to Lexington tomorrow to take on Lexington Christian. :ylsuper:

I think everyone is fighting it this week and more rain expected in Northern Kentucky over the weekend.
