Ryle 13 Brossart 2 / 5 innings

Jeff Hatfield threw a beautiful cold weather game, maintaining a perfect game

into the 4th when he walked a batter. The Raiders mass substituted in the fourth and in the fifth, Hatty gave up 4 hits and 2 runs which was all Brossart got for the day. The Raiders put up 13 runs on 11 hits and 10 free passes and got 16 players in the game. Thanks for finishing it in 5 guys, two days in a row your fans shivered you on to victory. Right Joe?

Did Brossart play Calvary today too? anyone have the score?

I think Brossart run ruled them, 10 - 0 in 5 innings

Whats up with Brossart? They've been kind of sluggish this season so far.

Brossart threw their catcher who had pitched once before in his HS career. He throws a knuckleball about 75% of the time. Kyle is a great catcher but is still experimenting with pitiching. He was relieved by two underclassmen.

Its early. They started slowly last year as well. Speaking of early, it felt like early January today in Alexandria.

Brossart faces Scott (District) and Elder on Monday and Tuesday.

Don't know, first time I saw them this year and I picked them to win the 10th.

They will have a tough time if they can only win when they throw their ace.

Man it was freezing out today. I am surprised they played two in this weather.

Ryle was out in the cold too, as they were yesterday up on the hill.

Brossart's #3 threw against Calvary because it was an All A Tournament game. Mutsch and Uebel are their 1 and 2. They should be ready come May. I think Ryle threw their 3rd starter today. He threw strikes and pitched well. The raiders are fundamentally sound defensively and will be tough to beat in the 9th.

Those high priced bats aren't supposed to be used in this cold weather are they? I thought someone said it had to be 40 degrees for them to be used and for a game to start as well. I guess that call is up to the home team though. Anyone know for sure?

Not from 10:00 this morning, but no excuses, Ryle is a strong team.

Yep, there is a cold weather warning on the label, that's why most of our guys used the same old bat.....I did notice none of the new bats came out of the bat bags this weekend.

I'm guessing that some of those high priced bats stayed in the bag today. At 12:00 it was 32 with a wind chill of 19.
