  1. Is this the place where "Marco Polo" was invented??

    Walking:

This morning I ran 5 and walked 3. Tomorrow will be strength training followed by a 3 mile walk. Don't leave out strength training from a fitness program, it's every bit as important as the aerobic part. Keep up the good work and make it a part of your daily routine. I recommend doing it early before the rest of the day gets in the way.:ylsuper:
  3. Yorkies are fantastic pets. Long hair is taken care of with occasional grooming. Go with a Yorkie, you won't be disappointed.:thumb:
  4. I think this lady reminds me more of the blonds in "Obsessed". Rick should have got Beyonce' after her.
  5. I agree, I am very easily entertained, but I thought the movie was slow and boring. Maybe my least favorite Will Smith movie. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
  6. Dakota is a fantastic young man from a great family. He will be a success in all aspects of life, no matter where he winds up. I wish the Euton family absolutely nothing but the best. :thumb:
  7. Folks, check my record, I don't post if I don't believe there is truth in it-it is certainly the truth to the very best of my knowledge. Like I said, nothing is final till the ink dries, we all know that. I would not bet anything on my name(or my avatar). If you choose to ignore this, I am fine with that. And I could certainly be wrong. I am simply passing along legit info that I do hope bears fruit. Now if you will excuse me, I am meeting my wife for dinner.
  8. Folks, I am going on record that Dave Baker is wrong and Billy Donovan will, indeed, be the new head coach. Of course, you all know how one can be left at the alter and nothing is 100%, but my source is closer than Baker, you might say a negotiator. I will stop right there, have a great weekend.
  9. I have met and spoken to Barnhart on at least 2 occasions. I found him to be extremely impressive as a person, knowledge of the athletics/finances(which goes way beyond anything you or I could understand), very sincere and grounded. He looked me in the eye and spoke to me the way I wanted but did not expect. As far as not getting along, Tubby-weren't we all ready for that change?- Gillispie-not sure too many like or get along with him, Cohen left for his alma mater, Moss-this departure was very, very peculiar(I have always felt there was more to the story on this one). Nonetheless, the buck stops with Mitch. Hiring is a very difficult thing, it's always the roll of the dice unless you are able to get the proven winner. This is Mitch's chance to do so. I fully support Mitch and I hope this next hire is a home run.
  10. Depends on how the season plays out. Fans will not be pleased, but Donovan will have a better honeymoon period and given a free pass because of the respect he already has earned and the likability factor. (Recruiting to the point will also be a key factor)
  11. Not to question you, but at what age does Donovan have to be before he can make a decision without Pitino's blessing or advice. After all, Donovan isn't twenty something anymore, he has won more national championships than Rick, I really think he can handle this decision without Ricks input. Surely he can make a decision on his own now. Rick hasn't exactly always made the right decisions everytime anyway.
  12. Go the old mower out Sunday to cut a couple areas that needed to be hit and guess what-the mower cord snapped-too bad.:ylsuper:
  13. I had a scary experience with a Pit Bull last summer. After a round of golf, 10 or 15 of us were sitting around eating hamburgers and summarizing the day. A Pit Bull had been around occasionally for 10 days or so. Extremely friendly and non threatening and guys would toss it scrap food, no problems at all. On this day, a Collie came wondering toward us, as the Collie approached the Pit totally changed its countenance, stood at attention, tail up in the air gleaming at the Collie. The Collie froze once he saw the Pit and obviously was scared. The Pit very slowly got closer(it seemed like it was in slow motion, very surreal). In the blink of an eye the Pitt attacked the Collie by the throat visciousley. Of course it scared us all to death and everyone screamed but did not know what to do. After maybe 20 to 30 seconds of screaming the Pit let go. One guy was ready to put an 8 iron in the side of the Pitt's scull if it had not run away. It was very scary, I will never trust a Pitt Bull again. I know it was protecting its perceived food source, but it was awful.:irked:
  14. Tough call, loved all three, but I'm going with Billy Jo, Bobbi Jo and Betty Jo over Elllie Mae and Arnold.
  15. Mitch is a class individual with the utmost integrity. I believe UK is fortunate to have him.
  16. The terrible abuse of handicap parking stickers.:madman:
  17. A trip to any bowl game would have to be considered a success, hopefully with a bowl win also. Getting to a bowl in not a gimme in the SEC, just ask UT. Competition is very difficult, just keep getting in bowl games, continue improving the recruiting, begin knocking off at least one upper level SEC opponent and a trend is nicely set to be really SEC competitive.
  18. I understand where you guys are coming from, trust me. I am not questioning that disparities can and will occur, the key word if you reread my posts is the word "unreasonable" disparity. This means taking the disparity issue to the highest degree. I think the jest of this thread refers to the Ashland-Rose Hill game(I could be wrong in my assumption and please lets not get on that bandwagon) where free throws were 37-10 in favor of Ashland. I think all will agree these two teams were very close in talent. I am not questioning the calls in this game at all here, just that this type of "disparity" is probably the unusual exception. And don't worry if you still disagree, I am not offended.:notworthy:
  19. No question, I agree completely, but there is typically not a large unreasonable disparity by games end given two equally talented teams. You surely agree that a large unreasonable disparity is the rare exception.
  20. Generally speaking, given relatively equal talent on opposing teams, I believe the suggestion is that the "law of averages" will win out in the end and fouls, violations, etc. typically will come fairly close to balancing out over the course of an athletic event. Although this is not always the case, a reasonable person would probably conclude so.
  21. Several of us Rose Hill fans noticed the error when it occurred . It did not appear the GC was trying to make a large issue of the error at the time, which was a bit surprising. Nonetheless, it was a very entertaining game. Hats off the Fraley, I thought he handled himself very well in this game. I am sure it's always tough to come back the first time to where you coached before. I hope he does well with GC.
  22. My recollection is that Harkins came to Ashland as a sophomore. I believe Kovach was always in the Ashland system.
  23. I think you are referring to Michael Lynch(David's son) the left hander with the great shooting touch, he was a little younger than Chris(Bill's son), who I believe was right handed.
  24. Greg Swift, extremely effective point guard, Dale Dummitt the other guard. The small forward position was manned by either Mark Swift or Daryl Smith.
  25. I stand corrected, you are correct. My memory failed me slightly. Ballard did win in the finals, correct??
