Been thinking about this one. I said I want Newport to win but I think that Holy Cross does so. I need to back track on that. Since Newports game vs NCC it looks like they have pivoted on offense. Maybe it was a glimpse of something they saw during the NCC game that led to this. Inserting #21 Jaden Conley into the QB1 position I think has changed Newports offense. I think they are a better team with someone that can distribute the ball to playmakers like Barber, Sharp and Jackson rather than just them trying to make something happen straight from the QB position alone. If they can get the ball into those kids hands in open space they are dangerous. I know the Bellevue game was by no means a productive night on offense but I think they are well past that one now. I think they can get the spark they need to pull this one out vs Holy Cross. Barber, Sharp and Jackson are also legit ball hawks on the defensive side of the ball. They match up extremely well with Holy Cross' skill players. Except for Hunt, but not many in NKY do. I see Sean Hurry having a big night being a huge problem for Holy Cross in this one and him rallying HIS defense. No turnovers and wrap up. #5 Roper, #6 Holder or #8 Harrington are going to make a big play for their team when they really need it. If Newport's defense can keep Ferguson contained to inside the pocket and put some pressure on him, this is Newport's game. Give me Th' Port 28-24. @DRKARK I think you swayed me here.

Whatever type of night they have. Their going to need it to include stopping the run. Bivens is what keeps that offense churning. Sets up everything else.

I want to see Holy Cross and NCC. Already seen NCC an Newport. I think Newport would love to see NCC again but...I want to see NCC vs Holy Cross.

I think this match up really plays into Cov Cath's favor. Cov Cath is designed for this type of one.

If they did go for 2, then they still lost by 2, instead of 1 if they did not convert the 2. I don't see where this even really is a topic. Either way Dixie was still going to have to hold Collins offense to less than a field goal.

Is Brossart's defense that good? Or are Holy Cross and Sayre offenses not that....let's say...imposing? Where's @Breds82 been at? I miss him. I asked this question after the Brossart and Holy Cross game and I do not think I ever heard anything back.

@WSL-BIRDS you spoke highly of #38 Jason Rabe from SK earlier in the year and you were not wrong. He is a very impressive young player. I know he makes coach Wynn proud and he will be extremely fun to watch grow over the next couple years. As well with the rest of Neers.

At the bare minimum I think he can be a substitute teacher. I know he has been working on the teacher thing for a while trying to get that box checked.

They would nail it with this one. But he would need a longer leash than they may be willing to give. 3-4 years before any judgements could be truely made.

Yes. For sure. There are a bunch of teams across the state across many years that remember the time they played either of these teams. Even without a State Title or deep playoff runs.

Newport needs to force a turnover or two to help their offense out with either field position, time of possession, or eliminating a crucial Holy Cross possession on offense. They need a big play to go their way at the right time. I think they got some guys that can make a play.

I wouldn't necessarily say non-traditional. They have some respect behind their name.
