I am going with Eagles but closer than what most people seem to believe. Hancock will be able to run the ball against Apollo but I don't know how they will be able to handle some of Apollos speed outside.

I am going with the Devils in this one 28-17.

If Beechwood played OC right now it would be real bad for the Aces. This team can and will be a good team but in my opinion they are not in that top 3 or 4 team discussion.

Edge really was fantastic for Apollo. He didn’t force anything and kept the Catholic defense on their heels.

Catholic had a couple glaring issues. One was the passing game is really struggling. Receivers are having a hard time getting open and #6 is not seeing the field great. On defense they are stout against the run but they couldn’t pressure the QB enough and the Catholic secondary had a big problem covering the Apollo WRs. Coach Edge kept getting the Catholic defense in bad matchups and the Apollo QB didn’t miss many. The Aces ran the ball really well between the tackles but the lack of speed is making them very one dimensional.

The biggest problem for OC is the WRs can’t get any separation and on defense they can’t cover anyone. The line is very good but they lack the speed that they will need to be a competitive 2A. Beechwood and Mayfield would really hurt this team.

First time I have seen Catholic this year and they are very disappointing. The passing game is nonexistent and they struggle against athletic WRs on defense. It’s hard for me to believe this team is top 5 in 2A.

As far as that hit, I have seen that called both ways and with the way the game is worried about head injuries I can see why it could have gone the other way. The issue is the coach was given an opportunity to step back and was very aggressive towards that official. He was probably 5-10 yards out on the field giving him the business. We hear every week about official shortages and officials not wanting to get disrespected when they are out there. As a coach you should absolutely protect your player but doing what he did should and will get a flag every time.

I have watched Owensboro a couple times and I have always thought Hampton was not used correctly. That kid is special and you rarely see any creativity with the play calling.

I wouldn’t expect Carrico back this week and Eaves is probably the next one I would worry about.

Ebelhar, Crowe, Carrico, Eaves, and a couple others all were injured and didn’t return. Carrico was definitely the most serious followed by Eaves who is a good lineman.

I am still trying to wrap my brain around Madisonville losing to Fort Campbell and then whipping a good Murray team.

The Catholic play calling has been about as bad as you can imagine. This game would be over if they would just run the ball.
