Wording is weird- I did hear Fredrick told the student body he is stepping down due to family reasons, not sure if that is the truth or not.

Ryle played big boy GCL baseball last night and almost succeeded taking down the #7 Nationally Ranked team. Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller is the reining Ohio State Champs. Ryle lost 6-5 after giving up 3 runs in the 6th. McIntyre had 4 strong innings with AJ Curry, who gets the loss, coming in as relief. I really wanted to make this game. They head to Dixie HS this weekend.

Nice article by the Enquirer on NKY boys to watch this season. Full article on their site, but here are the players:
-
Colonels beat the Birds 2x in a week. Suwinski earned the W and homered a a runner in the game.
-
Zekl picks up a second win tonight in 6 innings. Reardon went 3 for 4 and Dieruf 2 for 3. Colonels travel to Ft Thomas for a rematch against the Birds tomorrow night.

Who will be the State Champion?

Thanks! This was a really good take. I always thought it was a blind draw too, not taking fans work hours in NKY in consideration. https://nkytribune.com/2024/03/dan-webers-just-sayin-time-for-khsaa-to-fix-sweet-16-the-ninth-region-has-had-enough/ -

Covington Catholic 10 Highlands 1

CCH with a dominant 10-1 win. It was the Charlie Dieruf show, a Grand Slam followed by a HR. Eli Wagner was steady throwing strikes. This follows up a nice win against Walton Verona where Zekl was striking them out left and right. Benke w the loss, Birds used a total of 4 pitchers. -

Wow! Big win. It'll be interesting to see how Ryle matches up with the other NKY teams. -

Kuddos to Newport for fighting through and winning. Hate hearing Tay may be out for season. Does Covington hold any offers? Is he looking to play college hoops? -

NKY Baseball Coaches Association Top 10

I think Ryle on top is more than fair. Ryle’s studs include McIntyre (should be a D1 commit by summer) Caleb Mann, Cordrey (OH Northern) Eppley (Xavier) and Maverick Rabe (Otterbein). Beechwood will have a big void to fill with Boyd graduating. Flaherty should be the anchor with Fryman settling in. CCH has big shoes to fill losing J. Fitz. Jackson Reardon has lit up the showcase scene and I’m sure will be piling up on the offers. They have 2 stellar Senior pitchers in Charlie Dieruf (Miami U.) and Bradley Zekl. Highlands loses Hendrix as the stud pitcher. Wondering how Benke will look on the mound for the Birds this year. They have a load of Seniors ready to battle. SK has the duo of Logan Cones and Chad Atchle (both TMU commits) Looking forward to this season, some extraordinary talent in NKY! -
Highlands 39 Notre Dame 37 (9th Region Round 1)

I also think after FR year, a lot of girls willingly choose 1 sport. It’s their team “sisters, family” at least per my daughter and her friends. There are so many other clubs and activities they want to do, it makes it “easier” to have 1 sport and do that 1 sport really well. -
Ryle 51 Dixie Heights 30 (9th Region Round 1)

Quinn is the real deal. She looks like a beast on the court.
