Can I say this in regard? I don’t know if that joint is still around, but every year we played Ball at Kentuckians for Nationals or States we stayed at the Thrifty Dutchmen on Preston or near Preston. I recommend to anyone lol. The Good Ol days.

It's even better as WEBN used to say Just past Crittenden. Love being in the middle of nowhere, but having a town that gives me just what I need. Or drive the 35 mins North.

I've got good friends that live in Louisville. Down in the the valley actually near PRP. Just played in a golf outing at Seneca with them 2 Sats ago. Those guys hate UK and and I have a disdain for UofL, but we still kick it lol. I've played ball at Turners off Zorn Avenue. I don't hate Louisville, but it's different now. I've read stories of the migration from Chicago to Louisville, and let's be honest JCPS's is in shambles.

It's so funny you always comment this response for anything Louisville. But, and probably shouldn't say this but I've heard some folks in KDE say the same thing.

My wife works for the KDE. Mr Fletcher got his start at her Alma Mata Williamstown Independent either 94 or 95. He actually hung out with us at a softball tourney back then and he seemed like a pretty cool cat then. Age hits us fast lol

JCPS school system is a catastrophe. In the last 10 years their has been a Mass Migration, from Chicago's South and Southeast side to Louisville. Read an Article in the Chicago Tribune about it and even the show Shameless has referenced it. I Coach Fastpitch for an 8th region school and every year since 2021 we have played the semi finals at Ullmer Stadium. All you hear and see is sirens, and lights.

Not saying the facilities, uniforms or weight rooms are crappy, but after reading your post, and that perspective, then Johnson central is the perfect job lol. Plus you get tradition too.

Add Grant Co to that list.

This is great! I went back and listened to that broadcast and I laughed so much.

I'd say Grant County and Spencer County will have something to say about the 8th. Grant and SK look to be on a brink of a 3rd game, and possibly a 4th if all goes like last year. SK took the first game at the Billy Hicks classic for the Championship. Grant won the all important seed game for districts, and now has the 1 seed with a bye into the 32nd district championship game. Spencer played Anderson in a gutty 37-31 ballgame. So IMO I think these 4 teams have an equal chance to take the 8th. Grant travels to Anderson on the 17th so that will be a huge matchup right before districts. It's all about who will show up come regionals.

I'm a Grant Co guy, but keep up with what's going on in the 9th, and I have this sneaky feeling this years 9th region will be one of the best regional tourneys to attend. The semifinals will be one of the hottest tickets out there. That being said, The HS basketball fan in me would love to see this years 9th region tourney be played at the Roy in Henry County. Not bashing the 9th's tradition but as a basketball fan this would be awesome to see played in that environment. JMO.

First off congrats to Boyle County. But in my opinion this had to be the most boring game I witnessed. I totally understand running the football and being successful is crucial, but when it’s not, throw the dang ball.

Grant Vs SK tonight in which should be a defensive Juggernaut. Be a good one to watch.

I'll take Grant Co 2-1. I think the Braves have slight slight advantage as they are hosting, and playing on grass.

Impending bad weather on the way. Sure once these games get going if they were to play tonight the storms would be out of the area, but High winds, flooding, and tornado chances, it was a good move

It's not a positive look by no means, but truth is their is just a mutual hatred between these 2 schools. Anytime these 2 matchup in any sport, the ugly comes out.

Big Time Game leads to Big Time Emotions. No love lost Between WV and Grant. Sure adult fans from Grant can be ridiculous, but it wasn’t 2 weeks ago Grant was at Walton and their fans were brutal! People been asking about the decline in attendance or fan support. Well this game didn’t Disappoint! Everybody got their moneys worth! Good Season for WV, and what makes it worse is 3 teams in the 32nd could easily been a tough out next week in New Castle. Should be just the same Friday night between SK and Grant! 8th Region is tough this year.
