Every Coach on Etowns staff should have an evaluation on Monday and asked why a kid that averaged 11 yds a carry last season is barely touching the ball

Probably right about the record but I wouldn't put Bardstown over them just yet. They are on the struggle bus as well. Their 1 win is over Thomas Nelson and they are about to get wrecked by Ashland tomorrow night. As far as the coaching situation...When the existing HC doesn't notify the school system he is leaving until Mid June, finding a new HC from outside the program becomes pretty difficult at that point. Most quality coaches are already settled in and aren't going to leave their existing program at that point. My understanding is they only got a few applications and a couple of those were existing assistant coaches. So they made the decision to go with someone on staff and make it an Interim title while making it known that the position would be opened up after this season regardless of how good or bad the season went. Unfortunately, the next couple years may be worse than this one. Not a ton of talent coming through. The middle school has a good group of 7th and 8th graders but it will obviously be a couple years before any of those kids will make an impact.

2 Key notes about this post and this game. Etown lost every offensive lineman they had from last season and a couple of those played both ways. That is much more of an issue than the WR and QB. They have no time to get plays off. Most of Hart's team is made up of 5th year seniors as almost the entire class took advantage of the covid year. I agree that this needs to be a statement game from Hart. If they don't dominate this game then they aren't as good as advertised.

Yes. When the position was filled in June it was tagged as Interim and publicly stated it would be re opened after the season.

Losing Elmore for the season is a big hit not only in the secondary but if something happens to Spurrier they will be in real trouble on the offensive side. I’ll take Meade Co in the upset 35-28

Bryan Stations coach gift wrapped a win for BG by not kicking a FG with 2 mins left and then BGs coach said, Hold my beer! 1st down from the 12 with a min to go in a tie game….RUN THE BALL!! Worst case scenario you run the clock down and attempt a 29 yd FG for the win. If you miss you’re tied and heading to OT.

How do you not kick the FG and take the points there. Terrible decision. Basically giving the game away.

Both teams have struggled offensively. Early in the 2nd qtr, Etown strikes first. 7-0

Etown is off to it's worst start, 0-2 since the 2011 season when they went 0-11. They followed up that season with a 1-10 campaign. Most who are close to the program knew that the Panthers would take a step back this season after they lost their entire starting O line from the 2022 season and a few skills especially on the defensive side. I'm not sure anyone anticipated this start. The Fairdale game was a winnable game but mistakes and penalties cost them. Meade Co. gave them a beatdown with a backup QB. What is most baffling is what is happening on the offensive side of the ball. Etown has seemingly gone away from their traditional run game and looks more like a spread team. Although they have 54 rushing attempts compared to 39 passing, many of those rushing attempts have been QB Greyson Hainer running for his life. After averaging 11 yards a carry last season, workhorse Trey Durbin has only 10 rushes for 48 yards through 2 games. If that doesn't get fixed it is going to be a long, long season. Taylor Co. comes off a drubbing of Bardstown to get them to 1-1 after losing game 1 to Mercer Co. Taylor has seemed a little Jekyll and Hyde to me the past few years. I always hear that they have the best team they've ever had and then somehow they don't live up to the hype. With that said I think Taylor dominates this game and possibly gets to a running clock. 42-7 Taylor

I don't think CALs defense is elite but their offense certainly is. I think Boykins will get loose and North will score but they won't be able to stop CAL. I'll say 42-14 CAL

41-14 Meade final. Etown has yet to find their way on the offensive side of the ball. In 2 games they’ve scored a total of 26 pts and Durbin has 9 rushing attempts. Meade was excellent tonight. Hobbs stepped in at QB and made all the correct decisions. Redmond was a beast running the ball. Life doesn’t get easier for the Panthers as they travel to Taylor Co who put a beating on Bardstown tonight.

Game getting ready to start and the radio announcers just said Meade’s QB is out. Changes the dynamics of this game. I’ll take the Panthers by 10

I think collectively they do. Trey Durbin, Tyrin Jurnett, Braydon Dean in the backfield with Jquan Williams at WR and Greyson Hainer at QB. To me the question is can they get enough time to get the ball into the hands of the playmakers. The O line looked like swiss cheese last week. If they aren't tremendously better this week it could be a long night for the Panthers.

Interesting matchup. Etown struggled mightily on offense last week vs a less than stellar Fairdale team. They failed to establish the run game and QB Greyson Hainer was running for his life all night. Meade Co was a 2 pt conversion away from pulling off the upset on the road at Henderson co. and put 34 pts on the board. I believe Meade Co will have a huge advantage at the LOS and Etown holds a big advantage at the skill positions. Games are won and lost in the trenches. For this reason I’m taking Meade by 7.

I will also take SW. I’ve heard Henderson is down as well. South’s poor defense from last yr as seemingly barrier over to 2023. Although, UL commit Shaun Boykins was a major factor in that they still have some major holes on the defensive side. Thankfully for them, Norths defense was even more like Swiss cheese. As competition gets tougher I don’t know think SW will continue to put up anything close to 48pts a game so defense must improve. SW by 14
