Caverna is expected to name Richard Gatewood as their next head coach. Davier White has transferred to Caverna.

I think that's a pretty good pick. Some of the 1st round games are very intriguing. I like the Taylor/Sayre matchup, South Warren and Highlands and PRP/Corbin. Those 3 should be pretty good games.

Jordan Cooper-Lyvers has been announced as the new girls coach. Jordan has been the assistant coach for the past 2 seasons on the boys side at Central Hardin. Previous to that he was the boys head coach at Bethlehem.

Correct. Was hearing that Deron Breeze was considering taking the head coaching job but has apparently backed out. Still uncertain as to where Craine will land. Have heard that he's at Taylor, heard that he's going to Bowling Green as well. Also hearing that recent transfer Cooper Stone might not be staying. Chemistry could be an issue for Taylor County.

Jared McCurry, who has been an assistant the past 2 seasons and former boys head coach, takes over the reigns of the girls program. Nikki Coleman is moving into the role of athletic director.

According to x, Jason Clark has stepped down as head coach of the Bethlehem Banshees.

Per the Central Hardin Lady Bruins facebook page: "We would like to extend our warmest wishes to Coach Petersen and his wife, Alaena, as they embark on an exciting new chapter in their lives and careers. The Lady Bruins were truly blessed to have been a part of Coach P's journey, and we will deeply miss him. What an incredible impact he has had, on our program! Once a Bruin, Always a Bruin!" Not sure if this means Coach Petersen is leaving for a new job, or just doing something else right now. No clue who might be interested in this position either. It could be an attractive job, being one of the largest high schools in the region. It's somewhat of a tough district that Elizabethtown has had a pretty good handle on for the better part of a decade but year in, year out, Central is always a contender in the district.

The twins have now enrolled at Taylor and it sounds like Craine isn't far behind them. I'm not sure who would want this job now. They go from being a top regional contender to at best a middle-tier team. I don't think Breeze would be interested in this job. My best guess is that the assistant coach Jordy Rice, who I believe was head coach for a season, would be the front-runner.

That makes a lot of sense to me. Would be a great hire for the Cardinals.

Well, that changed quickly. Can confirm the Caverna twins have enrolled at Taylor County. Hearing that Jaylin Craine won't be far behind.

I can tell you that as of this exact moment, they have not enrolled. Not saying they won't or that they aren't in the process, but they have not enrolled officially, yet....

With school almost out, it's not to early to start thinking about who might be the front-runners for next season. Lots of things to consider like transfers, coaching changes and graduations. Without having given a long look at what everyone has coming back next season, I think Taylor County will be among the top teams. I know that Cooper Stone, the next-year sophomore from Green County has already enrolled at Taylor. Have also heard that a player from Larue County will be returning to Taylor County. There's also quite a bit of speculation that 2-3 players from Caverna could end up at Taylor. Those 2-3 players have also been rumored to be heading to Green County and Campbellsville. Caverna is a team that should return everyone. If they do, they will be at the top of the list of region contenders. The biggest question about Caverna right now, other than will the 2-3 players return, is will their coach return? A video that was posted on social media earlier this week that has gone viral, has the coach in a tough spot and I'm not sure he will be able to keep his job. North Hardin was a very senior heavy team this season, so how will back-to-back coach of the year in the 5th Region, Michael Baffour do in what is likely a rebuilding year? Green County has a new man at the helm. Montrelle Irvin takes over for Jordan Gilbert. But Green loses all-time leading scorer Hayden Blakeman, senior Jayden Marr, Houston Hodges and Tanner Willis. All 4 were crucial to the building of last year's team. They also have already lost starting point guard, Cooper Stone. I'm told junior guard Eric James Jr. will not return and that junior Modibo Kouyate will have to go to prep school because of eligibility issues. Adair County will be in a rebuilding year, losing 8 seniors, including Connor Loy, Isaiah Cochran and Brayton Coomer. Dawson Gilbert will be the lone returning starter. They'll also have to do it with a new coach, Jordan Brangers who replaces Deron Breeze. I have lots of questions about Larue County. I've heard so many different rumors about their team that who knows what is actually true. I'm told that almost all of Larue's starters will be transferring to other schools including Taylor Co, Grayson Co, Washington Co, and Elizabethtown or Central Hardin. Who knows if any of that is actually true. New Coaches Green County- Montrelle Irvin Adair County- Jordan Brangers Nelson County- TBD So who's your top 5? Mine in no particular order I think would be based on what we know for sure right now: Caverna, Taylor County, Larue County, Central Hardin and maybe Bethlehem. I feel like this season will have 2-3 strong teams and then everyone else. What do you think?

Definitely some typo's in these. Innings pitched leader is at 129 thru like 7 games. In a 3 inning game that pitcher got credit for 107 innings.

I can appreciate that. I remember a few years ago, Larue let Caverna's pitchers intentionally pick off their runners to get out of the inning. I also was told today that the district voted to use runs scored as the tiebreaker this year, so you can't really blame Larue for putting up at least 28 runs.

I can appreciate that Caverna is trying. But Caverna baseball is bad and has been for a long time. That said, though, at what point does this fall on Larue for running up the score? Step on the plate, bat out of order, do something to get some outs. 33-0 isn't helpful for anyone.

Stone is going to Taylor County, but can't see any of those kids from Caverna leaving to go to Taylor or anywhere else. That's been the rumor since those kids were in 8th grade and it hasn't happened yet. Can't imagine it happens now. But I've been wrong before, so who knows.

Miller was at Cumberland County previous to Pulaski County. He had great success there with a couple of teams that featured current Cumberland County coach Kristen Anderson (Rowe). He left there to take the Pulaski job. Saw good success, started a little league program and then was later promoted to athletic director. Brian and his family are about as good of people as you can find. Super thrilled for him to get back onto the sideline.

Can't find any confirmation anywhere, but heard that John Hardin had terminated the head coach just 2 weeks into the season. According to KHSAA, they haven't played since March 26th, but do have games scheduled for next week.

Don't be surprised for him to stay in Columbia and be coaching at LWC.

Baffour was a walk-on for U of L during the 2012-13 season. He is currently the head coach at North Hardin, where he has been the past 2 seasons and has had good success there, including a run this season to the regional finals. He has been the Coach of the Year for the 5th region both seasons that he has been at North.
