Bellevue has won 3 games in the past 3 seasons. 2 of those 3 wins being against the same school. What is the reason for such a decline?

The problem with taking your time now is that the off-season has already started and isn't going to wait around. I understand the kids are in the weight room with Coach Rogers now, but if he isn't the guy and doesn't stay that's time you lose in the transition.

Probably waiting until basketball season is over before making a hire. That kind of distraction/excitement would take away from their season! (completely joking, btw)..

I would've thought that if Rogers was going to be the guy they would've already completed the hire as well. Especially if he is running the weight room and off-season stuff.

I am curious to know who applied and is potentially getting passed over just to keep it "in house." Not saying either guy would be a bad hire because I assume both are good people from your post. Just curious.

What happened to that sophomore class? In middle school/freshmen ball they were hyped up to be the next best thing across the state.

I agree it is a great hire, but the first expectation should be a winning record.

I've heard the same. No reason some of those basketball athletes shouldn't have been on the football field over the years. Lincoln's best teams have came when every athlete is playing multiple sports.

Good point. I don't know anything about what happens on the inside, just an outsider looking in. Lincoln has had good athletes over the years. Always seems to me the top football players play basketball but that isn't reciprocated. If you want to win at a high level, your best athletes need to play multiple sports.

Until the football program is given the same attention as the basketball program it will always play second fiddle.

In my opinion, Lincoln's football program will never be what it could be with all the attention placed on basketball.
