I've gotta wonder if Cooper and CovCath don't end up being the two teams that play in the NKY freshman championship. Cooper and CCH are both 5-0 and judging from the outcomes of both teams' games against Beechwood, they look pretty evenly pitted against one another. CCH still has Boone and Ryle to play, and Cooper has Campbell and SK left. Assuming he doesn't have varsity minutes in any sports, is he eligible to play this year? Does the KHSAA have any say at this point?

I hear Cam Giesler really liked what he saw happening in the CCH program the week before last.

No disrespect intended to the memory of Jared or to anyone else, but I just don't know how jacked up a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds are going to be about honoring and recently-deceased football player who hadn't played at their high school since before they were born. And maybe it's me speaking through the glasses of someone who didn't have a pep bad at their school, but is a halftime show really going to get a football team all that jacked up? Especially if it's playing at halftime while they're being yelled at in the locker room?

I took a look at the Beechies' stats summary from last year on the KHSAA scoreboard. I guess Beechwood doesn't keep defensive stats, but I've listed each of last season's top offensive skills players, and then added on what year they are this season. As far as skills players are concerned, the Tigers' cup overfloweth. KHSAA lists Bellevue's former quarteback as a Thoroughbred these days. He looked really good against Newport last year.

I don't know about you, but I'm gonna be watching at home on Youtube for free instead of sitting on that steep blacktop parking lot and hoping to hear what's going on from across the highway instead of seeing the action.

We looked good against Dixie last year, but we didn't have a running clock on them in the first half.

Don't make us all look arrogant with that kind of stuff. Besides, Mayer, Coldiron, McGinness, Felix and Boydston have all graduated.

Sounds like freshman quarterback Evan Pitzer is a real gamer. Coming in as a 6ft freshman (with room to grow) and a nice arm.

Got my copy of the Diocesan spectator attendance policy.  Spectators will be limited to two family members per athlete. This number could be reduced depending on the facility capacity.  Ticket purchases must be made in advance to eliminate cash exchanges at the entrance.  Spectators must be seated at least 6 feet apart or greater from other spectators who are not in the family unit.  Spectators should complete a temperature screening/health check prior to attending the game. An additional screening may be required to be admitted.  Spectators must avoid congregating at the entrance/exits and in the parking lots. If the attendee is waiting in line, 6 feet spacing must be between guests.  Student ticket sales are not permitted at this time.  There will be no student section at the games. Schools are encouraged to find alternative ways to broadcast games for those unable to attend in-person.
