Starting off district play, the theory is "you wipe your slate clean" for the first of two times each season, but there's little doubt that both Cooper and Covington Catholic still have some lingering items on their mind after their first two games.

For Cooper, their top agenda items are:
* Get a W on the books. Plain and simple.
* Passing. They have to be able to break into triple digits for passing yardage in a game. After the first two games of 2020, they only have a total of 4 pass completions for 58 yards this season.
* The defense cannot let teams (like DeSales) ring up over 300 yards rushing on them. Games like that are awfully tough to win - especially when your offense struggles to complete passes.
* The Jags need to find a way to get some players other than Jeremiah Lee to make things happen on the field.

For Covington Catholic, their top agenda items are:
* Clean up your game play. A game with 9 penalties for 100 yards will end a playoff run.
* Out-gain your opponent's offense. The Colonels are realistically only a few plays away from 0-2 instead of 2-0. You need to be able to move the ball up and down the field if you want to consistently win games, and being out-gained two games in a row is not "on brand" for Covington Catholic football.
* The offense needs to start converting more on third downs. They were 4 for 11 against Dixie, and 8 for 15 against Beechwood. Improvement week-to-week is a good thing, but a dominant offense needs to have higher than a 53% conversion rate on third downs.
* The defense needs to focus on jamming the line of scrimmage, and keeping pressure on all the receivers on the field. They've had too many plays this season where they start to break down an offensive play, and then the QB ends up dumping off a late pass on the scramble for a first down, or someone ends up squirting out from the backfield and scrambling for 5+ yards.
