  1. Congrats to the young man!!! One of the best two sport athletes in the Louisville area. Is his future in football or basketball and where is he going to college?
  2. Shocking game and outcome. Cal controlled the game from the middle of the 2nd quarter on. Eastern made a run at them early in the 3rd but CAL was solid throughout. Eastern was on a nice run at the end of the season and I thought would handle CAL.
  3. Love the unis!!! Old old school with different colored shorts and tops.
  4. VoR I agree with your sentiments BUT can’t the parents and kids make the same decisions while in the 8th grade. The family should have ample evidence from watching, talking to other families. My fear (not really a fear as no dog in the fight) is that you will get more people involved that do NOT have the kids best interests at heart. Their are plenty of coaches of AAU, Travel teams, 7 on 7s that are out for THEIR own interest and not the kids.
  5. Wrapped in an enigma!!! Underwhelming for sure BUT all that matters is getting three wins in the region!
  6. I fully expect at least ONE Louisville area team to be in the Finals, but having TWO is a distinct possibility!!! BE and Mercy are the class of the Sixth region and one of those two teams should make the finals. SHA has ruled the Seventh this year but has not played up to their standards recently. Central, CAL, and DuPont are laying in the weeds. Whoever comes out of the 7th will have a tough road to the finals.
  7. Eastern seems to be peaking at the right time. They are playing much better than they did earlier in the season. Right now, probably fourth best in region and if they get out of District (CAL in loser go home matchup), they would hope for a Male/Ballard semi final matchup and then a big upset to get to Rupp.
  8. The 6th region is going to be a blast guessing which team will come out and head to Rupp. I count no fewer than SIX teams that have a very good chance BUT a couple of those may not even make it out of their District. Deepest region in the State???
  9. Absolutely no reason for X not to be in the running for 7th Region title EVERY year. 1500 boys and ONE appearance at State since the 70’s (I’m going off memory so don’t quote me on the timeframe) Something doesn’t quite add up…
  10. Great point. This is not about football, because if it was Coach should get an extension. Someone wanted him out and he’s out. I will make this statement: In the next six years BC’s record will not be anywhere close to what the last six years have been. This smells bad….
  11. I recently saw Kaden Magwood from Western HS in Louisville play. He’s a big strong guard that if he continues to improve should be a D1 prospect. Averages about 12 points a game on a very good Western team.
  12. That chart is eye popping. Is that total students in 9-12? Or is it Boys in 9-12? Shocking if total students that Evangel Christian could have a 6’10 kid and two 6’8 kids in a school of 37!!!
  13. Did they get a player eligible that hadn’t played all year?
  14. My first time witnessing a game a DeSales. The student section, named “The Danger Zone” I’m told, was outstanding. Doss had two students come over and engage the DeSales students when the Dragons took the lead late. All in good fun I”m sure!!! DeSales hit a 3 with 5 seconds to go and then had to withstand a 30 foot attempt at the buzzer to survive. Students rushed the floor after shot went awry. Exciting HS basketball game!!!
  15. Yes I been on the property but not inside the school. So your telling us what you stated earlier is in fact true? If so, and I have no reason to doubt your word (other than it doesn’t pass the smell test for ME), they limit the number of kids? This leads to many questions for me but two of them are: Who sets these limits and how does one get chosen to go to that school?
  16. So LCA keeps their enrollment low for Athletics? I find that hard to believe. Schools are (or should be) in the business of education. The more students, especially when there is tuition involved, the better.
  17. Basketball All A encompasses the smallest 125 schools My guess is 2A covers the next 125 schools or something like that
  18. This score surprised me. I saw Eastern earlier in the season and thought they had the makings of a really nice team. Manual totally outclassed them tonight.
  19. Yes The BE players were informed that the school is looking for a new Head football coach.
  20. Here’s why? It’s a district game and the district continues to want to seed for the district tourney. If it was a blind draw for the tourney, I doubt any SHA would schedule any of their district opponents.
  21. The Colts play a lot of close games against some good teams. Bodes well for tourney time I’d think, but they’ve got to be able to close the deal in some of these. Kudos for playing anyone, anywhere!
  22. Ding ding ding….we have a winner! If a Coach wants a kid and the kid wants to go to DuPont, the kid will be at DuPont. It really is that simple.
  23. T will be just fine. Coach Szabo is one of the best in the state and while there are no elite players there, he will get the best out of what he has. Tranfers have also hurt the talent level on Shelbyville Rd.
  24. Not doubting those numbers BUT I’d think that is not just a coaching salary. Did Coach Cronin teach a class or two? Did he have another administrative position within the school. That 290 seems REALLY high for “just” a football coach at an NAIA school.
