Long season ahead for Ryle.

Dixie 68 Notre Dame 55
NDA got down early and couldn’t recover. Buddenburg with 31! Great leadership by the senior. Pandas looked uncomfortable all night. Panda Shooters had off night. Kudos to Dixie for a dominate win.

Franklin-Simpson 39 Notre Dame 30
I suspect FS will beat Simon Kenton and play Cooper in the finals. if that’s the case is FS a good bell weather of what we will see in the future match ups with NDA and those teams?

I think all the games are on HUDL Fan. You have to buy a ticket to watch the games.

I think I saw that Purnell dropped in 31 and was SKLP player of the game. Wow!

Queen of the Commonwealth Cup
Pandas have been playing mostly without Lenihan (concussion)and Addie Lawrie (hand). They have been using different combos to lead the offense but at times have struggled IMO. Maya Lawrie suffered an ankle injury against Dixie so not sure what her status will be. Their bench is deep but again (my opinion) they will not be full strength for the QOC. What has been fun this year is watching the McGraw sisters play. Megan and Erin have been two of those new guards. They do a lot of things really well and make the game fun to watch!

Queen of the Commonwealth Cup
in reference to the NKY teams heading down… If Simon Kenton shoots 59% from 3 like they did against Dixie they might win this whole thing! It will be interesting to see how they try to quell Leah Macy. NDA will fight but not sure how far they will go until they get their point guards back online. Cooper game vs Manual is very intriguing. Cooper Having 4 girls avg double digits is a nice luxury. But Manual is avg 70 per game! I hope a NKY team brings the cup home. Good luck ladies!

Notre Dame 60 Dixie 58
What a thriller! Turnovers and missed freethrows haunt the Pandas all night. Holtzapfel the hero with 25 points and a 3 with 2 seconds left down 1. With 20 secs left, Dixie had a one point lead and got a steal at half court but missed the layup at the other end. NDA dribbles up quickly and calls the TO. Ball gets thrown in to Lawrie on the block who finds Emma Holtzapfel 3 feet above the top of the key and she drained it. Despite the tough loss Dixie has a lot to be excited about. Pandas hold their leading scorer to zero points but they were still in a position to win at the end of this one. Dixie is a very good team and IMO can beat any team in the 9th this year. Budenburg led them with 19 I think and was the Dixie selection as Player of the Game. Holtzapfel selected for the Pandas.

Nelson in foul trouble early. Fouled out in the 4th. Did not have her services in either OT.

Notre Dame 60 Seton (OH) 47
Was a great game with multiple lead changes over 3 qtrs. Seton a very gritty team with good 3 point shooters and a solid big. NDA eventually wears them down and wins by 13. Definitely the biggest challenge they have been given to date. Don’t have the totals but Holtzapfel and Gibson both double digits scoring. Lawrie with 10 plus rebounds.

Cooper 64 Montgomery County 28

Highlands 68 Dixie 64
Saw broadcast. Physical game with a lot of fouls. Highlands did not seem to use their bigs the way I thought they would. Orme kid is the real deal. All highlands guards shot well. Will be interesting to see stats on this one. Two big scorers (Bella and Catherine) for Dixie in foul trouble all Night. When they were in the game, it got interesting. Dixie point guard was very dynamic. I did not see Greene in the game at the end. Anyone know if she was injured? Hope not.

Notre Dame 52 St. Ursula (OH) 35
Per NDA Pandas Radio FB post: “The Varsity Panadas finished off the sweep with a 52-35 win. Emma Holtzapfel led the way with 20 (5 3 pointers) and Maya Lawrie chipped in 13."

Pre-season NKY Girls Top 10
Noel Price is the real deal. Worth the price of admission to watch her play.
