So much talk about Somerset skill that the Big bunnies are over looked, but they're line is legit. I hope we do make it to Lexington anything can happen to any team like Mayfield. It happens when kids get to comfortable. Hope the Jumpers take note, and don't get to cocky. They still have a long trail ahead.

Somerset has a seasoned huge line. Drew Johnson 6'3 270 3 year starter, Harper 6'2 half 280 3 year starter, Ben Simmons 6'3 300 ( was told currently out for 3 weeks do to injury) has started half games last season, Cimala 6'2 half 250 3 year starter, J. Simmons 6'2 half 250 has multiple starts past 2 seasons, plus others that are seasoned. They platoon and wear you down. They are deep. I do know Drew Johnson, Ben Simmons, Harper getting a lot of college visits. This group has only aloud Sheran to get touched once only by Beechwood. Somersets Def is lights out, and big. They've given up 28 points. 1 kickoff return, 1 against varsity, other 2 against JV freshman late in 4th.

Nothing badly meant. Just saying that unless that is the best they can defend pass, it will be hard to stop a high octane passing team, that has a explosive run game, and I said if they meet. It will be harder to put points on Somerset defense, and a shot out would not be favorable right now without Mayfield fixing they're defense. Nothing wrong with my comment.

Much respect for Mayfield, but win or lose tonight if that's the best defense they got, they can't stop Somerset offense unless they really improve, and Somerset will have best defense they've seen if both teams meet in playoffs. This is meant respectively.

7:45 left In 1st quarter Beechwood 14 Corbin 0. Like I said before Beechwood not that down just a little young, a lot of game left though.

I would like to point out a lot was sayin they'd see how Somerset did against Beechwood to judge them if they're legit. Now it's oh Beechwood is down. They lost to Paintsville 19-14 the team that only lost to Pikeville the so called god's of class A 9-8, the same Paintsville team Somerset destroyed in a game scrimmage. My point is Beechwood isn't that far down, they play tough games. It also shows that Somerset is really good by using that to measure. For years it's always Mayfield is the greatest, until they step out of the west and lose to, LCA, Danville, CAL. Knowone is unbeatable, and Mayfield should not underestimate the Jumpers like others the past 3 years.

People can argue all day, but the simple fact IMO the only 2A team that can beat Mayfield is Somerset, and the only team in 2A that can beat Somerset is Mayfield. LCA will give some fits, but just don't see it yet, but could be wrong. We all should cheer for both to get 1 heck of a 2A title game. The boys will settle who's better no matter what we think.

I noticed a lot of cramping tonight. Any word on Somerset big lineman? Was on crutches after half.

Somerset did, and was #1National before the KHSAA was formed so it's not recognised. Lol Maybe they change that this year.

Defense line is deep as well Harvey 6'3 270, Keith 6'0 230 don't know other kids numbers but 2 year starter, Harper, J Simmons and Johnson rotate as well on Defense.

Somerset is huge and deep I posted on another topic the lineman, butJohnson 6'3 280, Simmons 6'3 300, Harper 6'2 half 270, J. Simmons 6'2 half 250, cimala 6'2 half 240. Speaks, Prather, Thayer, will platoon all good size and talented. They all can start they are that deep with talent on line.

I totally agree with this. I thought what they did showed true sportsmanship. Just a lot of buzz going around to only of played Jenkins and S. Laurel. I was just looking at the RPI. The loses could really hurt them.

Breathitt Co. Was not impressive against Rockcastle Co. In they're scrimmage. I know scrimmages don't matter. The bobcats could easily go 10-0 playing bad teams, except maybe Leslie Co. That will kill they're RPI. If I'm correct with Jenkins going 0-10 already forfeiting games and the amount of loses they're opponents are having will be costly come 3rd round with seeding, if they get there. Just my opinion
