It won't be Yeast...if it is for some crazy reason then I would be shocked along with losing all respect for St. X and their ability to get a stable and quality coach. If you have looked at Yeast's track record...he is ALWAYS looking for the next best thing...bouncing around from school to school. I would think St. X would want someone like Scroggins, Wallace or Chuck Smith who have been successful where they have been along with stable. JMHO.

I agree that there are a lot of student athletes who get a combination of different scholarships, grants and such that equal a full ride...however the point of my original statement was based off of what stated in the original post. The young man got an offer of a full scholarship to play football at the NAIA level...very rarely does that happen. I think you know that better than most.

Actually you are incorrect...NAIA schools only can offer 24 full scholarships...some NAIA schools carry over 100 players, so yes I am correct to say, if they have a full ride at the NAIA level for football...then they are a special player because it rarely happens. Now NAIA schools will offer partial scholarships and pair it with others...anyway Back to the thread...congratulations to the young man who did receive a full ride offer.

I think they do...they have deep pockets and a very strong following. They could easily be in the same situation as Trinity (State champs every year) if they get the right coach in place.

You beat me to the punch...it sounds like they are saying since it is St. X...everyone will want to come to there and there will thousands of applications submitted so there will be no need to search nationally...thing is...they might be right.

He must be something special if they offered him a full ride...only on special occasions do NAIA schools offer players full rides as they are very limited on money. Congratulations to this player...I bet he will get more offers from higher level schools.

You mean if the 2 boys that transferred from Indiana to Trinity (Rondale Moore and Stephen Herron) would have chosen St. X, that St. X would have said no to them? I HIGHLY doubt it....they would be open arms to them coming.

I totally agree...any job outside the big 3 he would be a great hire...and he would be a great hire for St. X but they want a splash hire...someone who has won State Championships. I really think they will go national with this. JMHO.

I don't think so...he doesn't have anything that St. X wants as a coach (Record wise)...if it isn't Chuck Smith it will be someone with a similar track record outside the state.

To be honest I think for what the time and effort that a coach dies during a season and off-season I think they are every bit the same salary or more then a principal...you see head football coaches all the time get paid more than a president on a college level....I know it's different level but in some ways the same in the sense of scenario.
