How does this happen? I get it that DeSales is a top notch program, but St X should dominate this at the JV level based on number of kids. I say the same thing when Beechwood or NCC JV teams beat NKY 6A/5A schools. In theory the smaller schools have more young players seeing varsity minutes and not playing JV. Only way I can see this happening is if DeSales has a stud soph QB or RB not getting varsity minutes due to quality upperclassmen at those positions. St X should dominate the line of scrimmage.

If QB plays I go with Newport in a close one, if he doesn't NCC by 21 plus.

I was beginning to wonder if perhaps one of top tier teams from the east could be a real threat to Beechwood in 1A this year. However, judging by the common opponent in Somerset, maybe I should stop wondering. I believe the BW / Somerset game was total domination before it was canceled early in the 2nd quarter.

Wouldn’t CCH qualify as a power running team with that line and Casey? I get it that CCH is typically not one dimensional like Scott Co, but I think you could put CCH in the power running category if they wanted to be. That’s what typically makes them so difficult, they can power forward with McGinness or spread you out. Sounds like they went power game in the 2nd half against HHS and HHS held their own!
