DeSales 12 St. Xavier 0 (JV)

Featured Replies

Tiger JV season finishes with record of 4-5. Offense was weakness of this team. Played pretty well on defense throughout the year.

Tough loss for a team that seemed to be turning the corner the last few games.

Yeah, but have to give DeSales credit, they had some studs out there. Certainly don’t look like a 2A team.

Congrats to DeSales. Will anybody on this team make an impact next year?

We have Sophmore starting on OL and one at WR for Varsity and they don’t play JV, so already impacting. Couple others are backups for Varsity. Most all JV team is third or 4th string Varsity.

OL Evan Brown. WR Grant Goodman.

The fullback for X should be an impact player next year. He runs hard and gained about 8 yards every carry. Not sure who is ahead of him on the depth chart but he has varsity talent now.

How does this happen? I get it that DeSales is a top notch program, but St X should dominate this at the JV level based on number of kids. I say the same thing when Beechwood or NCC JV teams beat NKY 6A/5A schools. In theory the smaller schools have more young players seeing varsity minutes and not playing JV. Only way I can see this happening is if DeSales has a stud soph QB or RB not getting varsity minutes due to quality upperclassmen at those positions. St X should dominate the line of scrimmage.

DeSales had good running QB who got away on a scramble for their Only TD. They kicked a FG off a X turnover and sacked X QB for a safety. DeSales Had some good big lineman. I think some of the kids they played play Varsity.

I believe you are referring to Thomas Brian, and he is a good hard runner that could make an impact.
