Unless Eastern has improved dramatically since week two, I can’t see this as being much of a game. Hope I’m wrong.

Why its hard to trust KHSAA stats and I'm a stat man
CAL FAN replied to Jo-Jo13's topic in KY Football (High School)
An abundance of tackles is a sign of a poor defense. They can’t get off the field. Could be bad offense as well. Would not want to be on a team leading the state in tackles. U of K used to have the leading tacklers in the SEC almost every year. Not good! -

I think many times the stat guys are volunteers, often in the stands. They just don’t get it right and some of them may not truly understand what an assisted tackle is. The coaches may just be forwarding that type of information along. -
The outcome of DeSales/CAL and what it means for 2A
CAL FAN replied to DevilMayCare's topic in KY Football (High School)
Only one time in the last 7 or 8 years have one of these teams won the regular season matchup and went on to win the playoff game. Margain doesn’t seem to matter either. Last year Desales won by 18 in the first matchup and was beaten by 21 in the post-season. It’s a great game, but the only one that really matters will be in November. -
Trying to protect the lead has cost this team several games over the past few years. I like to call it “Prevent Offense”

Have you seen any of the three play this year?

BluegrassPreps Class 2A Football Rankings (9/24) Discussion
CAL FAN replied to Ram's topic in KY Football (High School)
I don’t understand why people get so worked up about rankings. Every team gets a chance to prove their case on the field during the playoffs. In the end people will only remember who won and maybe the runner up. -
Let's keep in mind here that we are talking about high school kids, not the NFL. Eighty percent of the schools have no or little hope of winning a championship in a given year. The kids are smart enough to know this. It is the parents and other adult fans that come up with outragous expectations for their kids that do good to find their shoes when they leave the house in the morning to live up to. For a team that was winless in the previous year a couple of wins might be a reachable goal. A winning season would be a goal. To win two playoff games is a fantastic acomplishment for most teams. Is every team and every kid that did not win a champioship last year a failure? Football, more than any other sport in my opinion is about being a team. Teams win and teams lose but they do it together. So, No it is not the goal of every team to win championships, but its nice when they do.

Do teams normally get a hotel or just do the 3 1/2 hour bus ride? What did Mayfield do last year when they traveled to Louisville? -

Sounds like your same post from last year. How did that workout? There are still a couple of games to play before with should have to listen to all this again. -

The only difference is that the playoff guidelines address that relationship to bench and the fans -

It was definitely an interesting game. In warmups Desalee was on the 50 yard line with balls and water bottles on Cal's side of the field. I guess rules don't apply when trying to protect your logo😃 I also like that the tried to herd the Cal fans into one section in the far corner of the stadium. Even had someone from the Sherriff's office trying to make sure no fans were sitting too close to the center of the field. In the end, after the game I heard reports that one of Desales fans actually attacked one of the CAL couches. I also wonder how the visiting team is placed in front of the Home fans in a playoff game. There were home fans harassing our coaches and from the stands. Maybe I,m misreading that rule as well as to the placement of benches and fans. The way I'm complaining you would think CAL lost. -

WV had a good season, if not for the new bracketing, they would probably be playing in the semi-finals. -
To be exact CAL had 5 players suspended for the NCC game and those suspensions were announced just a couple of days prior to the game.

What's your team's biggest non-district rival?
CAL FAN replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
CAL and Eastern. Just due to location. These two schools are less than 3 miles apart. -
One of the best celebrations in High School football is a long game winning field from a kid who hardley see the field otherwise. You can't take that away. I can't even believe this is even being discussed on this site.
