  1. CAL scores 1 in first inning off a walk and a hit and an error and Assumption jumps back and scores runs in several innings to take control of the game. Many college commits and signees on both sidelines!
  2. It stinks but it happens in every sport OTHER THAN CROSS COUNTRY AND TRACK where the times dictate everything! (I would guess swimming is the same). Bunch of crap, just check pre-season "watch lists" for softball, baseball, field hockey and others. Kids not on those lists are going to be playing at high level Division 1 programs while kids on the list will end up at maybe playing Division 3 or NAIA.
  3. Assumption jumped out to a 6-0 lead and then South Warren's bats woke up and Assumption bats got complacent! Nice game overall and nice win for unranked Assumption to pull away.
  4. Too many errors for Assumption and nice bats and pitching for Collins!
  5. Nicely played game although both teams bats were lacking. Butler started Freshmen Sadie Werner on the mound and Assumption started Freshmen Olivia Casey. Assumption led 6-1 going into bottom of 5th before Butler scored two. Played last two innings with JV and Butler got the better of it with many walks 6-1.
  6. I would like to think we have plenty of D-1, D-2, D-3 and NAIA players from our state who make us proud! Although my kids are D-1 athletes, I certainly take nothing away from the other college level student athletes!
  7. Any idea what the voting was for this award? Curious who came in ranked, etc.
  8. University of Louisville, which from all accounts is one of the top 3 or 4 programs in the country! Congrats to her and to UofL for landing such an outstanding talent!
  9. There are many inconsistencies and questionable lists. That's why I always say "let's play ball!" If coaches truly pay attention to offense AND defense and come to the same conclusions as these lists (both Regional and State) then so be it. As I said before, college coaches will truly determine where these kids should be ranked. Hopefully we have a great and exciting season!
  10. This was the final from the 7 inning varsity game and then JV came in and played last 3.5 innings and final score was 13-6 after JV part so 7-3 for Woodford on JV game. Nice contest on a cold and sloppy, slow field day!
  11. Elizabethtown was my sleeper pick when Regionals began and when these matchups were set after the Regional Finals. I am sticking with them in a low scoring game, 45-39.
  12. Yeah thought that last year when Butler played Sacred Heart in first round. Would have liked to see them opposite to see what could happen. Sounds like both teams played well tonight, though, so must have been a classic!
  13. Yeah, the head coach for Manual is Jeff Sparks (not sure who Coach Pearson is) and this is the second time someone has said this over last two games (win over Sacred Heart and today). Is there an inside story/joke here?
  14. Lexi Held is playing for Simon Kenton? I thought she played for Cooper? I know kids transfer all the time, but this stuff gets confusing!
  15. Very, very true! Thinking about the entire season and watching these two teams play, the 47 point loss was more surprising than this win. However, this win is a still a huge upset!
  16. I apologize as I made my comment before seeing the Sacred Heart/Manual thread. I will delete my comment and continue conversation over there. Congrats to GRC on huge win! Edit: Sorry system/page is not letting me delete previous post.
  17. Sacred Heart beat Manual by 47 in the LIT about 5-6 weeks ago. The GRC win is not the same universe as this upset!
  18. Not sure if anyone has commented but this is not the biggest upset of the day! Biggest upset was Manual (who lost to Sacred Heart by 47 in the LIT) beating the same Sacred Heart team 55-52!!!!! Both games are huge upsets but I will put the Manual win two or three steps ahead of this one!
  19. Congratulations to Elizabeth! She is a fine player and a great young lady!
  20. Assumption and Notre Dame are in a very similar situation. Notre Dame beat Assumption this season I think earlier this year.
  21. Having witnessed games at Conner and then games at Highlands, all of the Northern Kentucky schools should be ashamed because the officiating stinks up there and the calls set up to help the Northern Kentucky Schools! A complete joke! I don't want to hear about refs at Sacred Heart, Male or Butler again!
  22. I would predict Butler out of Region 6 and Sacred Heart out of 7th.
  23. True, very true. The only reason I asked is because it is such a huge topic of conversation on here amongst the Northern Kentucky schools and posters in particular. The whole Jenna Martin (Notre Dame to Highlands) thing and the Harney girl from Simon Kenton who is now at Holy Cross (I think). Very interesting and accurate point, though, that it happens all the time among regular students and not just athletes.
