I was implying if there were still 4 classes BG would probably be in 4A with alot less championship's. It was 12 years ago they played Lex Cath in the 3A finals. Now they're 2 classes apart.

I feel all those teams benefited from the 6 classes though. Before six classes they had 3 championships combined, and now they have 11 combined and 14 total. Regardless, Belfry would of won 2A in the old classification, and that would of taken away DeSales 2 championships. Bowling Green would probably be in the 4A bracket and might have only one.

How many state champions in 6 classes wouldn't of been champions in 4 classes and vice versa?

Too many classes, but like ATLCAT said you'll have a 2.5A before they reduce.

I said 6th earlier(I think there should only be a Top 5 in 1A, regardless) I'm just not sure what standards are used on these Polls. In the 4A thread, it was explained that it's not about W/L but performance. How do you judge Performance If you play a soft schedule? (I know I'm using scores) Pikeville lost to Paintsville 28-0 Williamsburg lost to Paintsville 53-21 Pikeville didn't score, but they allowed 25 less points then Williamsburg Williamsburg scored 21 more points then Pikeville Paris beat 4A Harrison County 41-7 @ Paris BGP 4A #4 Rockcastle Co. beat Harrison Co. 42-13 @ Harrison Does that make Paris as good as Rockcastle Co.? Because Harrison Co. scored less points on them? Would Paris be able to compete with a team like Rockcastle Co.? How would you judge those performances?

So how would Holy Cross and Paris fair against Pikeville's schedule? Would they be anymore competitive? After this week Pikeville will have played 4 teams in a row that are Top 4 in their respective classes.

I'm not saying they're good, but they have a tough overmatched schedule. They could chalk up wins if they had an easier schedule like some teams in 1A do, that never leave their comfort zone. Pikeville did what they should of done with CovHC, but since they lost to top tier teams they get the short arm on rankings because they don't pad their schedule for wins.

There are 129 teams involved in the FBS rankings, they should look like that. 4A has 40 teams...it won't look like that.

Madison Central is significantly better than Madison Southern seeing that they beat them 37-13 2 weeks ago.

According to Calpreps 2A Covington Holy Cross has a SOS of 14.9, opponents are 12-9. Covington Holy Cross currently has the same ranked schedule as Somerset for perspective. Louisville Holy Cross has a SOS of 2.9 with a combined opponents record of 11-11. To their credit they play DeSales, and got shut out. Paris has a SOS of -17.5 with a combined opponents record of 6-14. Best win is over 0-5 4A Harrison Co. Pikeville has a SOS of 20 with a combined opponents record of 12-7. 0-5 Covington Holy Cross is their only win. But if you look above Cov HC has played a tougher schedule. Pikevilles only win over Covington Holy Cross is a better win

I'd move them up to behind Raceland. I never said anything about performance, in the 4A thread they said it was based on performance and not W/L. But Pikeville is being punished because they don't play a soft schedule. Paintsville, Belfry, and Lex Christian are all Top 4 teams in their respective classes. Holy Cross and Paris would get running clock put on them by 2 of those teams easily.

How many other teams ranked in front of them would of performed well against that schedule?

Not sure why Pikeville is so low. In one thread you talk performance and not record based, yet outside Beechwood, Pikeville has the had the toughest schedule by a mile.

Negative, Bracken scheduled worse then Paris. Ludlow may be the next best team they play. That's the difference between the Top 5 and Bottom 5-12 of 1A. Top 5 have stronger schedules, and are tested. Bracken, Nicholas, Paris, never leave their comfort zone.

I misspoke he said they could "be just as good" that's still pretty lofty expectations. "Bracken won't put up that many points this year on the hounds. Taking nothing away from them but this team could be just as good as the '15 greyhounds quote me."

Nope, Holy Cross is good, and if you see my post in the 1A thread, I said if Paris is a true contender they'd have to beat HolyCross by 2 TD's. Holy Cross will be the best team they play all year until playoffs.

Someone said this team was better than the '15 squad. And they could compete basically with anyone in 1A this year.

Jemele Hill makes Sergio Dipp look like Bob Costas. I mean if she would of refused to go on SC6 would anyone of noticed?

They won't drop down, Belfry isn't losing boys at a rate that they'll drop down any time soon. Belfry has more boys then they did in the early 2000's. Corbin will move up and I'd look for Johnson Central to join 5A

Has nothing to do with total Enrollment, it averages out the number of boys a school has. Belfry during the last had a high average of boys. Central has ALOT of girls in their school, but they average the same amount of boys as Belfry does. I've done a whole post about this before. Enrollment reports are on the KHSAA website.
