  1. Imo Diallo has played himself right out of the 1st round and maybe the draft altogether.
  2. I think that is exactly what Cal is trying to do but when Vanderbilt and Washington pick up 2 early first half fouls that blows his rotation up and he has to play the others more minutes. As for Gabriel I agree he gives you hustle but the only thing he is really good for offensively is an occassional 3. He has no offensive moves off the dribble and never gets to the foul line. That may be a good thing since he only shoots them at 56%. On defense he is always susceptible to the ball fake and either fouls the opponent or gets beat to the basket. I would love to see a stat on how many times he has cost another defender a foul trying to help out after Gabriel got beat.
  3. That's a pretty strong statement. There have been quite a few very good teams not win the state and not the first to not even get there.
  4. This Ky. team has no chance to beat any good team if you have to play extended minutes with Richards, Diallo and Gabriel on the floor at the same time. They give you absolutely nothing on defense and very little on offense.
  5. Nope but neither has Votto in 5 ABs but we all know that's not a concern except for maybe Plantmanky.
  6. I agree with you on that but they let them drag their pivot foot all over the place and then take 4 or 5 steps in the lane just like the NBA.
  7. Congratulations to the lady cougars on a 23 win season against a much improved schedule. With graduating only 1 senior starter the 3 seniors to be who have started since freshmen should be poised to make a run again next year. They should be able to replace senior starter McLemore with Strange and I'm sure they have some young talent in the pipeline to help the bench next year. Their biggest obstacle will once again be Ryle in their own district who also returns almost everyone. The 9th should be a good region again with a good returning group at Dixie and Highlands as well as others I'm sure.
  8. Sounds to me like they are trying to get the college game even closer to the NBA game. I'm not sure how I feel about that as I already feel like some things have changed for the worse. They already let college players walk all over the floor like the NBA but if it makes the game more exciting to watch I guess it can't hurt.
  9. My sentiments entirely. They looked like they played hard enough to win, especially on defense and are clearly looking ahead to Florida. Cal will remind them how important that next game is.
  10. I don't think he can hurt this team in whatever role they use him in.
  11. Why does a Steeler fan care so much about what the Bengals front office thinks?
  12. Sounds like he knew what he was talking about this time.
  13. I don't think anyone is really judging their program just stating facts. They have had a solid program since Jaime took over around 2000 I think. Can't say what the program was like prior to that.
  14. In 2014/15 they went 30-4 and lost to HCross in semis of 9th regional. Holy Cross then beat Holmes who went 30-3 and Holy Cross eventually won state to finish 33-3. Can't ever remember 3 teams in NoKy, boys or girls, winning 30 games in the same season. In 2015/16 Highlands went 22-11 and lost to Ryle in the 2nd round of the 9th regional. Ryle was 24-7 and lost to Holmes in the 9th regional championship. Holmes lost in quarters of the state to Mercer Co. who was 31-6 and lost in the semis to Franklin Co. who was 30-5 and lost to eventual state champ Butler. In 2016/17 Highlands lost to Cooper in the 1st round. Cooper went into the regional as a district runnerup to Conner. Cooper ended up losing the regional championship to Holmes who eventaully lost to Franklin Co. in the state semis. Mercer Co. then beat Franklin Co in the state championship. So to your point I guess that they probably were not the favorites in any of those years. They lost in the regular season 2014/15 to Holy Cross, 2015/16 they lost in the regular season to Holmes and in 2016/17 they did beat Holmes during the season but then lost to Cooper in the regional.
  15. I can see the similiarity but Revere is a much better hitter than Billy over their careers, (.284 to .248), and better obp, (.319 to .298). Were it not for the great defense Billy plays I'd rather have him playing ahead of Billy if he could give you those numbers consistently. He's strictly a left handed hitter too.
  16. Chicago clears some cap space. Bears release two defensive starters, pick up more than $1
  17. Carolina clears some cap space. Panthers clean house, cut two defensive starters to open up $6 million in cap space - CBSSports.com
  18. Reds add some bench help. No power but can hit a little from the left side, steal a base and play defense. Reds agree to Minors deal with Ben Revere | Cincinnati Reds
  19. I guess Duke will move into a #1 seed now. Jumped from 12th in the polls last week to 5th with a win @ Clemson. 1 point road loss to Va. Tech should be enough to move them into the top 4.
  20. Nice win for the lady cougars, good to get any first game jitters out of the way. Now they have plenty of time to prepare for a different style of play in the lady bulldogs of Holmes.
  21. Per Cincinnati.com Holmes 51, St. Henry 37 St. Henry (14-15) - Benson 1 3 5, Millay 1 0 2, Flanagan 3 0 7, Ives 5 0 10, Iloegbunam 4 5 13. Totals 14 8 37. Holmes (20-7) - Lovell 1 0 3, Johnson 4 0 10, Graham 4 2 14, Keith 0 2 2, Stowers 5 1 11, Englemon 3 5 11. Totals 17 10 51. Halftime, H 28-21. 3-pointers: SH 1 (Flanagan), H 7 (Graham 4, Johnson 2, Lovell).
  22. Shouldn't this thread have women's in the title? Very misleading if you're just looking through the forum.
  23. Anyone know what broadcasts will be available? Any tv webcasts allowed this year? I'm assuming all CovCath and Holy Cross games will have radio webcasts??
