I think the problem with Horton is he hasn't reach Burley Boy status yet, his listing on Rivals is the same as a lot of the Class 2016 Top 250 DTs when it comes to size and weight, but he looks like a skinny 290lb if that makes sense.

Even in high school it can make a major difference, you're telling me someone who doesn't turn 18 til after they graduate or midway through the season couldn't use 2 extra years of development in high school? Look at the "Matthew Effect" when it comes to sports, or read the first chapter of Outliars by Malcolm Gladwell. College is where it usually evens out, because you're playing likewise talent.

I didn't compare him to Devin Booker only in age. If you look at most kids his age they would heading into their sophomore year of college, and he'll be a senior in HS. Never downgraded the kid, just gave him realistic college expectations. I said he was a nice player, just won't contribute at the next level. Also is he a "kid" if he's 18 going on 19?

Devin Booker is 19yo right now, Turns 20 in October. Peyton is 18yo right now and turns 19 in September. So for one month they'll both be 19, or Devin Booker is 11months older than Peyton. Is he a nice player, yes. But he's 1.5-2 years older than most kids in his grade, that goes along way in terms of development. He reminds me of Robbie Stenzel from GRC, good HS player that will just be a sparingly used player at the D1 level.

If the kid had his teammate Darius Williams' body, he would be a high major right now. Kid is smooth and a serious player. Will be a high major eventually.

I think Samford is a notch below though some of the instate schools, I think they're using a low major recruiting philosophy right now and hoping to get one diamond in the rough. WKU and Murray St. are bonafide mid majors, with EKU and Morehead St. trailing behind, but i'd still consider them a level above of Samford currently, in terms of talent they need to recruit.

I agree that it takes a good coach to be able to handle a school like that, and glad he finally got over the Public School 6A Title hump. I think he took that job in the mid 90s? Scott Co was probably a .500 (give or take)team before he got there but he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Population has tripled in Georgetown since 1990, and doubled since 2000. How many schools have that luxury? There's a reason he's been there almost 20 years, same for Hicks. They get talent in abundance.

I'll be more impressed with McKee to see what he does after the Scott Co. split. Highest average of boys for a public school, and hasn't had to worry about any other high school in his county. All youth and three middle school systems feed right into the High School. I'd say to a high school coach that's gold.

Well it's not hard for UK coaches to hear about a player that is local to them. UK knows more about upcoming talent in the state then most would be lead to believe. There are clips of his summer games on his YouTube channel and It's not hard for Belcher to send game film to UK if he was contacted and asked for it. It doesn't matter if it was scheduled during high school season, and that's not a knock on Pendleton Co.

If you aren't in Indianpolis or even Atlanta this weekend for either the EYBL,UA, Terrific 24 or The Gauntlet, you won't be at UK or any other high major program. Fact. Every D1 major and mid major staff will be in Indy this week. Any other AAU team is pointless this week.

In not sure if I can or how to link an article, but as Tackett compared ito an event such as the Derby, you know what the KY Derby did recently? They added mobile cell towers so there wouldn't be dead zones everywhere. The Derby realized that social media plays as much of part as the actual race itself.

This is how I feel. We live in a connected world, and you can't do that at the S16(with AT&T anyways). It's like when they took away the hard copy S16 program. It was always done really well, then made it digital but you have no access to it once you're at the games unless you've downloaded it, then you're trying to read a book off a small phone. That's when the S16 started going downhill in my opinion. If Tackett can sit and diddle around on his computer for a night session game, then why can't the common fan? I know that sounds counterproductive to the game, but I could stream NCAA games/scores easier, but I like to keep up with BPreps threads, Twitter accounts, live stats, commentary etc.. that would help the S16 experience for a common fan in my experience I'd look into going more regularly.
