Pulaski County High and Southwestern High are still looking for one more team to join the “Don Marshall Bowl” for 2017-18. Week 0. The game is a Friday night Double-Header. You play Southwestern once and Pulaski once. Incentives:

 

· $3500 per team per season

· Championship and Runner-Up Trophies for each game.

· “Player-of-the-Game” award for each team.

· T shirts for all team and staff

· Food after game for all team and staff

How do we get in contact with John Hines?

He's been advertising this on the Listserv for several weeks. I'm hoping someone takes him up on the offer because it is a really nice bowl. I wonder if he's promoting this in other states?

What is the going rate for visiting teams to a bowl? Is $3500 average, high or low?

 

I know the 3 local schools would get about $8K each for the Correll Bowl but I don't know what they paid the 4th (visiting) team.

Has the Marshal bowl taken over for the Ray Correll bowl? Or does SHS still do one as well?

No it is it's own deal. Correll Bowl for now is not happening. County schools would only play in it if Somerset would play them both each year and Somerset didn't want to play them both every year.

 

I think Corrells would still support it, but I also think they want all 3 locals to play in it.

The “Don Marshall Bowl” in south central Kentucky is seeking one more team for 2017-2018. This has become one of the most prestigious bowl games in the state. The media coverage (both local and WYMT-TV) is outstanding, the sponsors are terrific, and the crowds make it an electric atmosphere. The “Don Marshall Bowl” began in 2009, and has quickly become a marquee event. Don Marshall Bowl 2017 will be held on Friday night, August 18, at Southwestern High School in Somerset, KY.

(2018 Don Marshall Bowl will take place at Pulaski County High School)
