Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Game
That website has NOT been updated. Has the date wrong for this year's game.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
Brown did NOT leave John for E'town. Unless, of course, he KNEW a year or two in advance that E'town was going to be open for a fact. He was retired when he took the E'town job. He did NOT jump directly from JH to E.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
The best 11 vs. Platoon debate will go on forever. E'town has had a nice run, but didn't really break through until it got some depth. Central Hardin has built its depth in recent years. KCD is a great example. Hung with Lexington Christian for a while, but once all those two-way kids got tired, KCD wore down. I think that is what North Hardin is trying to build to. Most of the solid teams which beat North try to platoon.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
I am not going into the internal concerns. Every program has them, no matter how successful. But to have Grade-A type talent riding the pine or playing completely out of position all over the place like it is going out of style? I doubt that is SOLELY the reason some of these kids aren't playing as much as biased armchair quarterback dads think. There has GOTTA be more smoke to this fire, methinks. Something else is afoot. Has to. Can't be that simple.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
Got my bgms teams confused. I stand corrected. He is still a better athlete than 95 percent of basketball players in Hardin County. Preseason All Region hoops by The Cats Pause (and I think BGP as well without looking it up).

Witherspoon had success with Bluegrass as a dual threat QB in middle school. Also a starter on the JHHS basketball team.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
I find it hard to believe an all-area or all-district or even bona fide starter was left to rot on the bench when apparently this one player would have changed the team's fortunes.

North Hardin had game-changers, offensively or defensively, riding the pine? That's new(s) to me.

Do John Hardin and North Hardin need new coaches?
I have yet to see a valid reason as to why the size of John Hardin keeps shrinking, but: 1) You have neighborhoods which used to be in John's district that are now in North's district or now in Central's district. 2) You have classrooms at John not even being used. 3) You have teachers at North and Central who have to go "carting" because they do not have their own rooms. John Hardin's district has been gerrymandered, plain and simple. When it was built, it was supposed to alleviate issues at North and CH. Instead of redistricting BACK to JH -- which has space aplenty -- the school district renovated NH and has teachers carting at CH and has kids/parents/buses driving through what should be their home district to get to another school. And all of that has NOTHING to do with the coaching/administration/parental support at the individual schools themselves.

2017 Girls All-State Soccer Teams Have Been Released
- List the Kentucky players that have got invited to the prestigious US Army Combine.
Octavious Oxendine, North Hardin sophomore two-way lineman- KY High School Soccer Coaches Assoc. All-state Team
I apologize. That explains why my list only had 10. Nothing bad meant to the omitted player. Innocent error/blunder on my part.- KY High School Soccer Coaches Assoc. All-state Team
- 6A #11 Ballard vs. #14 Central Hardin
Completely misread that. Thought it said 4-A instead of 4-4. I complety screwed that one up on my own.- 6A #11 Ballard vs. #14 Central Hardin
This I agree with. But some will argue you don't want to get rusty, either.- 6A #11 Ballard vs. #14 Central Hardin
I love how a projected 2-3 touchdown win turns into a quality loss, that's all. Fact is, no one in the great 8 (Hardin, Meade, LaRue, Grayson) has an elite win this year. E'town beat Franklin-Simpson, but a vastly mediocre and one-dimensional Meade County team also beat them.- 6A #11 Ballard vs. #14 Central Hardin
My fault. I thought he said Meade was 4-A. It says 4-FOUR. Wow. I goofed completely.- 6A #11 Ballard vs. #14 Central Hardin
@thsrocks, Meade County is 6-A. Has been in the largest class for a while. Went to the 6-A championship a few years back when Scott County won. That being said, didn't some Hardin County folks think Central Hardin would beat Southwestern by 2-3 touchdowns and Central Hardin was down big early?- Louisville-based Aspire Academy has released its roster
KHSAA overhauled Bylaw 22 last year, which is why Hopkinsville was allowed to play Findlay Prep out of Vegas. Here's the kicker: It only applies to OUT of state. So North Hardin CAN'T play North Hardin Christian (KCAA) and Trinity CAN'T play Aspire (prep team) during regular season. Not sure how Fern Creek and Aspire scrimmage is legal by KHSAA, since Aspire is non accredited IN state team (like how high school teams facing adult alumni teams have been blocked).- Top 25 teams knocked out
I think @Yellow Card is correct (U-23 team).- Are Penalty Kicks the Answer?
PKs from the 18-yard box. Scoot 'em back a bit and make em SHOOT, instead of just passing inside the post. I was a below-average soccer player, but I was always one of the team's best PK takers because I could drill a toe ball inside the left or right post.- State Champ vs State Champ
The scheduling grid was far more lenient in the four class days, especially in districts with five or seven teams because someone always had a non district game.- State Champ vs State Champ
Even if you are in a 7-team district, you get four games to schedule on your own accord. Assuming 2 of your district opponents are weak, you do NOT need a cupcake for non district (yet some teams think they still do). Another thing about the larger classes is they negate travel during the season and tend to pair you up with former rivals. Central Hardin has more in common with John Hardin than say Muhlenberg. John Hardin would rather play a game with meaning against North Hardin or Nelson than Valley or Western. Valley and Western would rather stay in The Ville than have to go to Breckinridge County amd Hardin County. Then, of course, with these small districts, you have horrendous teams "qualifying" for the playoffs. IIRC, I don't remember any playoff forfeits in the four class days, but they are happening in the six class days.- Top 25 teams knocked out
Minnis spent this summer training with the Columbus Crew. Last year, he captained an American touring team in Holland. Made All-Camp at Wake Forest and Duke. Had upward of 10 good D-I offers (including Clemson, Wake and Old Dominion). He was also the state CLUB player of the year in 2016. He is NOT just a stat padder.- Louisville-based Aspire Academy has released its roster
Aspire Academy features former Hopkinsville star Jalen Johnson and former Wesley Christian (EKY) player TJ Smith. Students attend DeSales. Aspire plays home-and-home with Wesley this year, is scrimmaging Fern Creek, plays some home games at DeSales and has a neutral-court game in November at Central Hardin near Elizabethtown (3 miles off either Exit 91 or 94 on I-65 and where the WK and BG Parkways meet). - List the Kentucky players that have got invited to the prestigious US Army Combine.
