Yes, he has put up some great offensive numbers during his HS career and is a very good player.

 

I'm not sure what it says when you are scoring 8 goals in a 12-2 win, or 7 goals in a 10-0 match. To me, this type of score line does nothing but dilute this accomplishment.

While not T25, top-seeded Bardstown was upset by Bethlehem in the 19th. Bethlehem then upset Nelson Co. in tonight's finals. Didn't see that coming.

Minnis spent this summer training with the Columbus Crew. Last year, he captained an American touring team in Holland. Made All-Camp at Wake Forest and Duke. Had upward of 10 good D-I offers (including Clemson, Wake and Old Dominion). He was also the state CLUB player of the year in 2016.

 

He is NOT just a stat padder.

@Nathaniel Bryan I have actually known Andrew for some time now, as I stated, I consider him a very good player. You failed to mention that he also spent time with the Rovers PDL squad this past summer. Just for clarity, it was not an American touring team he captained, the group was an ODP squad made up solely of Kentucky players.

 

I don't believe I labeled him a stat padder, you seem to have completely missed my point. My issue with teams allowing their "star" player(s) to score such a large number of goals, in such lopsided wins, falls to the coach more than anyone else. I will also say this is not limited to a single coach/school, it happens quite a bit on the girls side as well. When people use the amount of goals a player scores as a measuring stick, I believe it is worth mentioning that several of these goals are being scored in lopsided matches. In my opinion, if such a large portion of your total goals scored come in these types of matches, you are diluting this accomplishment.

Let’s face the facts. If we think the players that came before this and are on that list of all time scorers didn’t run up the goals on some weaker teams when they played we are kidding ourselves.

Did he train with the actual MLS Columbus Crew squad or one of their many academy teams?

Henderson/Hopkinsville was an amazing game. double OT and decided on PK.

 

Both teams had a goal in OT taken away for a handball or pushing.

This also usually says you aren't scheduling tough enough opponents. The best players on the best teams who play difficult schedules every year don't usually put up 50 goals in a season due to competition.

Henderson had 3 goals total taken. I've no clue why the first goal was taken and the push in OT was, well, still trying to figure it out. Kevin Patton had a great video of it on his twitter feed. About as bad a call you will see.

Not as significant, but a call that resulted in refs at same location giving GK a yellow card for delay. The entire play was 8 seconds. No idea if same refs or not, but ...
