Been busy so didn't realize I had a response. They were the state championship games in Hershey (just east of Harrisburg). 1 game Thursday, 2 Friday, and 3 Saturday. I left early Friday morning and so the games Friday and the first games on Saturday before heading out home. PIAA is planning next year to do three days with two games per day. The problem is Hersheypark Stadium can't handle multiple teams because of only two lockerrooms. So, Saturday was 11am, 3pm, and 8pm. Which didn't do well for trying to travel. Plus, I left for Texas Monday morning to get down there by Wednesday afternoon for the 6-man games. In the end, the 6A game was a blowout, so didn't care much to miss it. Next year, I'm planning to week the Corky Kell Classic in Georgia Week 0 (barring horrible weather/temperature), and then head to Danville, Kentucky for the bowl games at Danville and Boyle County in Week 1 -- IF -- they're still scheduled the same as this year with one bowl on Friday and one on Saturday on the same weekend.

I'm on #66 with two more tomorrow in New Jersey. At least four next week in PA. And then 12 in Texas. Finally saw games in Delaware. Was very surprised by their Division 1 Championship.

The rule states the official's decisions are final. And, for those saying 'the game was over' are false. The official declares the game over and leaves the field when it's over. Until then, they still maintain jurisdiction on the playing surface. Did they 'misapply' a rule? Yes. They ruled a 'defensive penalty extended the game' to an offensive play. But, how is that different than if it happened in the first half? Imagine it was 10-7 with :00 left in the 2nd quarter and Plainfield North was given a free play, scored, and maintained their 14-10 lead the entire second half? If you argue that the situation is 'different' because Fenwick had 24 minutes of the second half to overcome the official's mistake, then you fail to realize that Fenwick had the entire overtime to overcome the official's mistake. In the end, Fenwick is upset because they 'thought they had won', while if it happened in the second quarter, they wouldn't have. That's the only difference.

Life is what you make it. Far too many that get on you, or me, about it probably don't get to do what they want and enjoy what they get to do. So, they try to knock down people who do get to do what they love to do. I'm already looking forward to 2017 early games in TN and KY. I like the Stanford "Death Valley Bowl" games on Friday, but would like to see what other games there are out there. So far been to Rafferty's (Bowling Green), Barren/Glasgow Bowl, Death Valley (Stanford), Ray Correll (Somerset), Roy Kidd (Richmond), Pike County (Belfry and Pikeville), Montgomery Co Rec (Mt. Sterling), Fort Harrod (Harrodsburg), and VisitNich.com (EJ & WJ). Rafferty's is a at WKU, so it's a great venue to see a game. Might try the Forcht Bank Bowl if they're doing the four games in two days again. Just depends. Having a 1-year-old by that time dictates certain requirements in games I'll be going to (i.e., one where I won't fear my daughter falling through the stands lol).

I have 799 different teams overall (I had posted earlier on another site, 800, but realized I was counting a team double, though I do count one co-op team Rimersburg Union/ACV in with Rimersburg Union games despite the co-op). Some coaches are going to suffer from information overload. If they can't determine on the fly what data is important, all the film in the world won't help them. It's different for a staff to study film over the course of a week. Completely different to do it on the next drive.

Field looks really good. Definitely drained week. Looks dry. Crowd is filtering in. So far no Hardin fans.

Just stopped at the field. Looks like the lines are near invisible.

Both had some issues. Better team won, though. Sloppy, 'raw' game. Definitely have things to work on. Better tackling, blocking, ball handling.

Was at the game. Lincoln was up 7-6 late in 1st half. Southern with 2 TDs in 11 seconds before Lincoln scored with 4 sec left to make it 21-14. Then scoreless the entire second half. Southern was the better team. But Lincoln were a pesky bunch.

I'd consider it. But, I'd at least rather get back into Ohio. My wife may take over driving if she gets some sleep on the way. We may get another room for the night. Who knows.

Week 0 I was planning to see the Roy Kidd Bowl at Richmond (but I had been there years ago when it was at EKU before Madison Central built their new stadium). I'm actually leaning toward the Ft. Harrod Bowl now on Saturday. Especially since it's not at the old stadium it may be my choice. Only problem is I hope to drive all the way home from there after the game. Might be a tough stretch.

Well, I was originally planning on attending the Roy Kidd Bowl, but kept thinking about this one. Knowing it's not at the old stadium makes this one a much tougher decisions. May head here instead. Already planning on the Death Valley Bowl the night before, so it's a very short drive no matter which Saturday option I choose.

Until at least last year, the KHSAA site has listed a PDF file of 'bowl games'. Usually not released until late July or very early August. Last year, I didn't see it before Week 0 started (though I may have missed it, but I saw it up afterwords). I think that's what NCF is talking about. The scoreboard site is just that, and left up to the teams to be a definitive source of all the games.

I'm still undecided between the Death Valley Bowl on Friday and the single Pineville-Hazard game at Pineville. I've been wanting to see a game there since driving by it several times and thinking the stadium had a bit of charm to it. Reminds me of Memphis, Texas in that regard. But, it's a single game and much further east than my Thursday game in Clinton, Tennessee. Saturday is most definitely going to be Richmond's Roy Kidd Bowl at Madison Central.

That's why I went to the VisitNich.com Bowl twice as well. But, never saw the big appeal to return. If this year is at West Jessamine, the stands on the home side, though much closer than at EJ, face to the northwest and you're in the sun for the first game.

Sounds like fun. Sorry I can't be more of a help, as I wouldn't even know where to begin a list of 'best games'. But, I'm sure you'll find some as the season goes on.

Death Valley Bowl doesn't have the Lincoln County game posted yet. But, that's one doubleheader for Friday. This year, I'm opting for a single game. Pineville v. Hazard. Saturday will probably be the Roy Kidd Bowl in Richmond. I thought about Bardstown, but Richmond is more in line with where to head home from. Hopefully can make it in a straight shot after the game to forego the time/expense of the hotel.

Katy (suburb of Houston) that is building the $63 million stadium has 9 high schools and already has two stadiums. Sharing 9 high school schedules for two stadiums is ridiculous. Even sharing for three stadiums is ridiculous. Plus, you forget that those tax payers want this and are the ones filling the stands on Friday nights.

Correction: Rafferty's is Saturday. So, you could do Scottie Bowl at Glasgow on Friday and then the Rafferty's on Saturday. Basically the opposite of what I did two years ago on Saturday and Sunday (though not at Glasgow, it was at Barren County). Not a long distance between the two, either. Though will be a long drive home. Which is the benefit of Montgomery County. Though, I'm probably going to Roy Kidd Bowl on Saturday in Richmond on Saturday. Since it's closest and I've been to it once and it was a good matchup then and treated well, though at EKU instead of Madison Central.

I wasn't thrilled by it, of all the bowls I've seen. As for the Scottie Bowl, I assume it's at Glasgow HS. I went to it at Barren County when it was called the Barren County Bowl (I think it changes names depending who hosts it that year). It has another name, as well, I believe. I went to at Barren County and didn't have a great time. But, it was pushed back from Saturday to Sunday due to weather and the stadium faces west and it was hot as hell and too early in the day. For Friday, the better bowl is at WKU, the Rafferty's Bowl. Much better stadium and probably better matchups. I'd head do Death Valley at Stanford or the Don Marshall at Pulaski if I go to a bowl on Friday. But, I'm leaning toward a single game at Pineville Friday night.

I went to the Death Valley Bowl last year and enjoyed it. Nice small stadium.

All-Star games can't be played at NCAA venues. Any regular or post-season game is allowed.

If you're going to be at the Rec Bowl on Saturday or at least close to Ohio, there's the VisitNich.com Bowl (which should be played at West Jessamine this year) or the Death Valley Bowl in Stanford. There's also the Don Marshall Bowl in Somerset at Southwestern HS.
