  1. A huge district matchup is this friday between the rivals Indians and Cardinals. Both teams enter with 6-2 records and the winner will be the #2 seed and host a playoff game. These two teams will actually meet again in the playoffs no matter the outcome and this game is for home field. Taylor County has a dynamic rushing attack with brothers Peyton and Kaden Smith. The Indians have been more balanced lately with 4-5 guys getting carries and QB Luke Janes throwing the ball well.
  2. 1. Bardstown 2. John Hardin 3. Marion County 4. Central Hardin 5. Larue County 6. North Hardin 7. Thomas Nelson 8. Adair County 9. Elizabethown 10. Washington County Players: 1. Andrew Mason- Bardstown 2. James Jewell- Marion County 3. AJ Doctor- John Hardin 4. Bryce Riley- Bardstown 5. Jalen Tyus- John Hardin 6. Meek Ater- Caverna 7. Queshaun Davis- North Hardin 8. Braden Smith- Thomas Nelson 9. Alandre Murphy- Elizabethtown 10. Devon Rogers- John Hardin
  3. This was a back and forth game with an exciting ending as Adair stopped Metcalfe on a 2 point conversion to win. The Indians were led by QB Luke Janes with 204 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. Adair has a big district matchup with Taylor County next week as they will play for the #2 seed and a home playoff game in the district.
  4. Both teams are coming off a bye week and are having stellar seasons. Adair comes in with a 5-2 record but is coming off a 32-12 loss to a top 5 3A team in Glasgow. Metcalfe also comes in at 5-2 and is currently ranked top 10 in 2A. Both teams play a physical brand of football. Metcalfe is more balanced as they average 131 passing yards and 211 rushing yards per game. Adair comes in averaging 63 yards per game passing and 207 rush yards per game. Metcalfe took a big hit a few weeks ago when dual threat SR QB Peyton Dial tore his ACL but his replacement Mason Estes has played well. Look for this to be a tight game.
  5. Its a big district matchup this week between the 5-1 Scotties and 5-1 Indians. Last week Adair County won 21-7 at Hart County while Glasgow took care of a good Greenwood team 37-16. Both of these teams run a lot of Wing T offense and Glasgow will have the superior athletes but Adair has been really physical running the ball downhill and got their passing game going last week.
  6. The Indians improve to 5-1 and 2-0 in district play with this big road win. The score was not a reflection the game itself as Adair dominated 367 yards to 151 for Hart. Indian QB Luke Janes was 14-20 for 221 yards and 2 TDS. Adair won the time of possession by 15 minutes over Hart County.
  7. Big district matchup this week between the Indians and Raiders. Adair comes in 4-1 and had a 36-22 district win at Casey County last week. Hart County has a 3-2 record and lost their first district contest last week 57-14 to Glasgow. Both of these teams run the Wing T and prioritize running the football. Adair rushed for 400 yards with 0 passing yards last week. The difference in these teams is Hart County has some athletes and are not as physical up front while Adair is more power football and will bully you at the line of scrimmage. Should be a really good game.
  8. The Indians improve to 4-1 with a big first district win tonight on the road. Adair rushed for 399 yards and had 0 pass yards as it was all ground and pound for them. Senior Derrick Pierce rushed for 149 yards, while freshman Lane Grant rushed for 107 yards and also forced a fumble on defense. The indians will be at Hart County next week for another big district showdown.
  9. The dragons of old look to be back awesome win by Green County.
  10. The Indians improve to 3-1 tonight and dominated this game start to finish getting a running clock started at the end of the second quarter. Adair had many different guys score touchdowns and got to work on some things tonight before their first district game next week at Casey County. Clinton County falls to 0-4 and will host Metcalfe County next.
  11. The indians are now 2-1 and come off a tough 23-20 loss at Wayne County in a game where they were up 20-13 in the 4th. Clinton County comes in 0-3 after losing to McCreary Central 36-22. Adair has been primarily a team establishing the run averaging over 200 yards rushing. Clinton is more of a passing team so more averaging 124 yards through the air.
  12. Wayne started this game up 13-0 and was up 13-6 at halftime. Adair started to roll in the second half and took a 20-13 lead in the 4th quarter. Wayne answered with a late TD to tie it at 20. This is where it got crazy though. Adair forced a fumble and could not convert a short 4th down play in the Wayne redzone to take the lead. Wayne gets the ball back under a minute left and runs a WR Pass for about 60 yards to their QB and ends up hitting a 32 yard field goal with 1.9 left to win the game. Very tough loss for Adair, and big win for the Cardinals.
  13. These teams both canceled their previous games because COVID and now will play Friday in Monticello. Wayne comes in 1-0 after defeating Clinton County 42-6 in week 1. They was off last week due to COVID. Adair comes in 2-0 with wins over Russell County and Barren County. Wayne will run the ball primarily as usual, while Adair will show a mix of pass and run.
  14. Adair County vs Berea canceled friday. From what I heard this is not on Adair's end.
  15. Adair comes in 2-0 after a double overtime thriller with Barren County. Berea is 1-1 and lost 23-0 to Paris last week. These teams met last season and Adair was victorious 38-0. I look for the Indians to play much better this week and start 3-0 for the first time since 2016.
  16. This game was the second of the night at Barren County and did not get started until around 9 PM CT and did not finish until 11:30 or so. Adair was hot out of the gate going up 20-6, but fumbled right before halftime to let Barren make it a 20-13 game at half. Barren dominated the third quarter and most of the 4th as Adair looked gassed but this one went to overtime. Barren missed a pair of long kicks wide right late in the 4th to win it. This was one of the more exciting games I have seen.
  17. This game came to fruition after both Adair and Barren had COVID cancellations. Adair started week 1 with a bang surprising many by beating rival Russell County 46-7. Barren lost a competitive game at Metcalfe County 27-13. These two teams last met in 2019 and this should be a competitive well played game.
  18. Well this score sure did surprise people. Adair was coming off a 2-4 season while Russell was 6-1 last season. The Indians had a kickoff return for TD to start this one and never looked back dominating both sides of the ball. A really impressive win for them and they will head to Campbellsville next week to play the Eagles, another team who has had their number the last couple of years.
  19. A rivalry matchup for week one between the Indians and the Lakers and it should be a good one. These teams did not get to play last season due to COVID so they will both be chomping at the bit. Adair went 2-4 last season, while Russell went 6-0 in the regular season and was upset in the first round of district. Both teams return their starting senior QB's Luke Janes for Adair and Gavin Gossage for Russell Co and should expect good seasons from both. Russell lost far more than Adair including their 2 leading rushers, top receiver, and most of their line play. Adair brought 5 seniors back using the Supplemental rule and will have plenty of offensive weapons, but a young and inexperienced O-line.
  20. Greg Lundy is the new head coach replacing Billy Carson, and this is his first head coaching position. Lundy has previously been an assistant at Russell County in various stints with different coaches. He also was an assistant at Adair County under Deron Breeze for 4 seasons. Lundy also has been a coach at the AAU levels. He is the father of former Adair County, Russell County, and Lindsey Wilson College standout Kel Stotts.
  21. These 3 teams scrimmaged at Adair tonight and Adair looked like the best team which was surprising considering KCD was 1A state runner up last season. Adairs offense was rolling tonight and they seemed to score at will on both teams. KCD has another good offense as usual also. Campbellsville looks to be in rebuilding mode after a really good 3-4 year run.
  22. Another name in this one that could be a candidate is assistant coach Greg Lundy. He has been assistant two different times at Russell as well as an assistant at Adair County for 4-5 years. Also coached on and off in travel ball, and is known for his player development especially of bigs. Is the father of former Adair and Russell County standout Kel Stotts.
  23. Taylor County hosted a 7 on 7 Tournament today with 16 teams including Central Hardin, South Warren, Larue County, North Hardin, Western Hills, Harlan County, Bell County, and Adair County. North Hardin defeated Adair County in the finals.
  24. Casey County has hired Billy Carson as their new head coach. Carson recently resigned as Russell County coach after 4 years there.
