Looking ahead to next year!

Who is young and will be good next year? I think St. Xavier is on my radar of being as good as anyone in the state? Also Great Crossing? I know all 16 regions are covered on here very well and I do not get out to see as many teams as I like? Throw out some teams that are young and future is bright!

I know this season has a lot left in it and do not want to take away from it but just want to know some teams that are young and will be good in future as well.

In the 12th DCA loses their best player in Immanuel Dut and another senior contributor in Noah Imfeld.  However, they return a tremendous amount of size and experience.

  • Lual Ayiei (6-11+) will be a senior
  • Leek Ateny (6-10) will be a junior.  He isn't eligible until Feb 13 but he can play.
  • Titus Boyd (6-3) will be a senior
  • Braden Fugate (5-10) will be a senior
  • Billy Inmon (6-2) will be a senior

All of the above, with the exception of Ateny, have played a lot of minutes this year against good competition.  Some younger players with potential are Cole Dadisman (6-3) and Dre Motley (6-0), both juniors to be.  I can't recall many teams in the 12th region having that kind of size.

South Laurel will be the class of the 13th next year and probably top ten in the state as long as Mabe’s knee rehab goes according to plan

Adair County is 14-3 this year and will return 7 of their top 8 players including 6'7 Isaiah Cochran who averages 16 ppg, point guard Connor Loy who averages 17 ppg, and 6'6 Brayton Coomer who averages 11 ppg. Cochran has multiple D1 offers and Loy has a D1 offer from Mcneese State. The lone rotation player they lose from this year averages 3 ppg off the bench. Their returning top 7 next year will consist of 6 seniors and 1 junior

Well no, nobody else in the 12th has the luxury that they have.

Besides those that have already been mentioned ... Male returns just about everyone, Trinity loses Vasser but will return 3 starters. Douglass has all their main guys back, as will Newport.

WEB Dubois doesn't have any seniors and have played well. Beat Butler last night.

Trinity looks to be good for next handful of years. Their freshman team beat St. X last night with not much trouble.

Next year SHOULD be Great Crossing and Newport with a few that could step up but those two should be the class of the state.

In the 12th region Lincoln County has some good young players.

In the 2nd Region:

Henderson County (15-3) returns 3 starters and 4 of their top 5 scorers in Cooper Davenport, Lacon McKinney, Elijah Suggs, and Dwaine Moss.

Madisonville (10-8) returns 4 starters and 4 of their top 5 scorers in Kanyon Johnson, Lemontae Ratcliff, Landon Smith, and Aaron Richardson.

UHA (12-4) returns 2 starters and their leading scorer in Tylin George.

Union County (9-8) seems to be on the rise winning their last 3 in a row and they return their top 6 players for next season.

Dawson Springs (10-8) has put together a good season and returns their starting 5 next season.
