  1. You see what you want to see and you believe what you want to believe. I simply used the incident where the player was ejected for apparently throwing a punch and the kid with the cast as examples of seeing what you want to see and picking the game apart. As for the kid with the cast intentions, you can't assure me of anything relative to intent unless you are him. I'll take your word on him being a good kid. I'll add that I have known the young man who was ejected for 10 years and he is an outstanding kid also. He made a mistake and will learn from it. By the way, the defensive player can grab, hold (as long as it's not a eligible receiver releasing down field for a pass), throw the player to the ground, etc. What appeared to be a punch is not allowed. The offensive player cannot hold and in this case he did. It you would like to keep picking the game apart we can...we can talk about the intentional grounding by Danville that wasn't called. Before you say, but he was outside the tackle box, remember they played Friday night not Saturday or Sunday and high school does not have that rule. We can also talk about the phantom timeout call and the fact the refs called it an inadvertent whistle. We can go on and on but it doesn't matter. Danville won the game. Congratulations and good luck.
  2. I have really tried to give Danville the credit and respect they deserve but you sure do make it difficult. You see what you want to see. You can pick apart any ball game and find so called "cheap shots". Maybe you might take a look at a certain cast being repeatedly used on the side players heads or maybe the fact that the player that was thrown out for appearing to throw a punch was being held and being dragged down after the whistle and just maybe he threw an open hand to break the hold (a legal technique). There you go, I can pick the game apart to and see what I want to see. Again, congratulations to the Danville team and Coaches on the win and good luck with the season.
  3. They were the overwhelming favorite in the this forums poll (I know you and only you hedged on this game) and the rankings. Enough with the injury excuse. Everyone has key injuries this time of year. If they played they weren't injured. Good luck to Danville on winning another State Championship.
  4. I assure you the message to the team was one of respect for the Danville team and program. I can also assure you that the message in this house was one of respect. Twenty plus years ago my wife and I would make the trip from Lexington just watch Danville play.
  5. This was really a no win game for TC . What I mean by that is if they win the game on the field then people will say, well all you did was beat a 2A team...., if they lose it's, you lost to a 2A team. The reality is this 2A team is not an average 2A team, they are one of the best if not the best in the state. They have special class of seniors that have played together and accomplished a lot together. They are ranked, regardless of class, significantly higher than TC. Danville was the overwhelming favorite by a large majority, and playing on their home field at homecoming was going to make it a tremendous challenge to overcome for TC. TC knew all this a respected all of this. They came to Danville knowing it was going to be a real up hill battle if they were going to have a chance to win the game. Both teams played very hard and played with a lot of heart. It was not a "dirty" game with "dirty" or "undisciplined" players, it was a tough "football game" played by young men and coached by good men. Yes, one of the young men for TC appeared to throw a punch and that is very unfortunate and shouldn't have happened. He was thrown out of the game and deserved it. He did not deserve what some of the adults said to him as he was leaving the field. As for the officiating, yes it was really bad and it's unfortunate that it has to be a part of the discussion. Both sides feel they were done wrong and this will always be a topic of debate (I would love to sit down and watch the game with a Danville fan and have this debate). Wether or not one side got it worse than the other will always depend on which side of the field you were sitting or which sideline you were on. As they should, both coaching staffs argued, discussed passionately, and stood up for their respective team. In the end, the game was determined by the team that overcame the adversity they were dealt and persevered. All credit to the players and coaches of the Danville Admirals for getting this done. TC is getting better as a team and as a program. They have a lot of work left to do and many lessons to learn. Games like this will make both teams better.
  6. I got news for you. Everyone is banged up this time of year including TC. Your running back looked just fine and 1 receiver out....come on man. By the way it looked like the same cast as game 1 against Douglas. Good game for one that suppose to be dominated by Danville. Congrats to the players and coaches.
  7. I would argue that the turning point was the last drive of the 1st half for Danville. What appeared to be a lateral recovered by TC and would have been returned for a touchdown was blown dead and called incomplete, or the supposed inadvertent whistle when TC stopped Danville on 4th and 2, or the fumble recovered by TC in the end zone for a touchback. Somehow Danville got 5-6 tries to get a first down. All of this happened on the last possession of the 2nd half for Danville and resulted in a 21-14 TC lead at half vs a 21-7 TC lead. This game was a mess by the refs and though I do not think they intentionally favored Danville it sure impacted TC a whole lot more. All this being said, TC had plenty of chances to win this game in spite of the botched job by the refs and they just didn't make the plays. Credit to Danville as they did make the plays when needed. IMO if these 2 play on a neutral field with average refs, TC wins 8 of 10. Also, no need to put video of the TC player losing out to his emotions. Just not cool and unnecessary.
  8. I would love to hear your logic on the extra downs. Not to mention the lateral recovered by TC on the 1st 4th down and recovered fumble in the end zone by TC.
  9. Never seen such a poor job of refereeing.
  10. Absolutely embarrassing...7 downs from the 2 yd line for Ads to score
  11. Have been hearing RUMORS this week that they have been playing an ineligible player since week 2. I have also heard many stories about other questionable activities. Don't know if any of this is true but it's the word on the street.
  12. Says the Danville fan. I guess the same can be said about the TC vs FD game. Just saying...everyone's opinion is based on something....unless you're like the poster above, charlesw88, who's opinion is based on his "opinion ". Again, just hoping for a good game.
  13. Interesting scores being predicted. I'll be the contrarian, Tates Creek 28 Danville 21. Danville is obviously really good but Tates Creek is not as bad as some of you think. IMO they are better than Waggener and they have Danville a run for their money.
  14. Have you seen both play or is this based on the Frederick Douglas scores?
  15. I thought the one thing all the Lexington public schools had over most schools was speed....then I watched Danville play. Interesting matchup in this one, hope it translates into a good game.
  16. Lafayette has regressed but they were never as good as their ranking. If you take Walker Wood off last years team I think they were a 500 team or slightly better last year. Henry Clay is definitely improved but let's not get carried away. They got beat down by Tates Creek 47-0 and Douglas should handle them easily. Time for some changes in my opinion.
  17. Not sure what the point is to sitting in the rain. Isn't there a saying about someone being too dumb to come in out of the rain? I guess I am on the side of, if it's allowed and it makes you more comfortable to come watch then I am for it. I personally would opt for rain gear.
  18. Absolutely it's exciting to comeback in the moment but in retrospect I would be concerned that it took OT to win against an obviously down team. Maybe this creates momentum that propels Ryle to a great season but I would be cautiously optimistic and dig deep to address why they were dominated in the first half. IMO you should never get too high or low with wins or losses. There is much to be learned from both.
  19. I definitely would not be excited about this win. If anything it would make me worried that it took overtime to beat a team that may win 1-2 games.
  20. Which coaching staffs out there develop players and consistently get better as individuals and as a team?
  21. Tates Creek over Henry Clay 31-7 Bryan Station in an upset over Lafayette 35-28.
  22. They are making plenty of "noise" already but that's all it is....noise.
