  1. Big, big step and LC isn't what it used to be. That being said, you have to play the best to beat the best.
  2. I seriously doubt Trinity would schedule LC and I have no idea why LC would want that beat down but what do I know.
  3. He was not called, he applied, at least in some of the cases. He is at LCA still because he didn't get the other jobs.
  4. They may be talented but they lost a lot of talented seniors and some talented transfers. Hard to replace them with freshmen and sophomores. The loss of an OC and a Head Coach that has applied for every job around Lexington is not a good sign.
  5. I see no reason to think they will be better than last season. They were a mess and lost a lot to graduation and some for other reasons. They tried to plug in receivers/former middle school qb's at qb. They had one get hurt, one that never really wanted to play qb and a sophomore qb that was ineffective. What are your doubts on Tates Creek?
  6. The sophomore qb/db that played against your team in the playoffs. He has already transferred and I have heard of 2 others but I won't disclose them because they are still there as of now.
  7. No problem with transfers that are done by the rules. Problem is most aren't done by the rules and there seems to be more and more teams mysteriously filling a need on their team.
  8. They lost a bunch and continue to lose more. It's going to be a tough year for them but they are well coached and have a few very talented players so I hope I am wrong.
  9. Obviously you are his father. You definitely don't know all the qb's in and around Lexington. Best of luck to him.
  10. Not quite sure that's going to make them better.
  11. I know alot of folks are down on Lexington football but I thought there would be more input/thoughts on this. Personally I think it's going to be a very interesting couple of years in Lexington football. The emergence of FDU has put the others on notice to step up or be left behind. Bold prediction; a Lexington school or two will make it to Kroger field in the next two years.
  12. After game one it will be trial by fire for the young Ads. Don't know much about Garrard or Middlesboro and I expect LCA will be down but outside of that looks pretty rigorous.
  13. For starters they need to get a solid quarterback in place. They have some good young talent coming up but I think they lost a quite a bit.
  14. I agree they probably won't ever contend for the best team in Lexington but they will be well coached. I think they will be competitive in 1A in 3-4 years.
  15. Correct, it's a choice....their choice so why should it matter to anyone else? We all have our reasons for doing or not doing certain things and they have theirs.
  16. Unless something drastically changes I think they will again be in a fight with Dunbar to get into the playoffs. FDU has really hurt them and from what I am hearing they continue to lose players to them. Hope I am wrong about this, but I think they will struggle to win a game or two.
  17. If true, isn't that 3 high schools for him?
  18. 1) Frederick Douglas - For whatever reason they are the chosen one of the fcps schools. To the detriment of the other public schools in Lexington, FD has been given more resources, better facilities, etc.. Time will tell if they can capitalize on it. 2) Tates Creek 3) Henry Clay 4) Lexington Catholic 5) Lafayette 6) Bryan Station 7) LCA 8) Dunbar
  19. You're kidding yourself if you think playing at a community college is a good gig. Remember a lot of these young men are behind academically already. Do you think it's going to get easier in college? Throw a more rigorous basketball schedule on top of it. Yes it requires hard work. Check the statistics on how many will stick and how many will be back home. Best of luck to all those mentioned.
  20. Nice facilities or not, this level is hard work, cut throat, your not playing with your high school buddies, etc.. For young men, that for whatever reason are behind academically, it is even more difficult. Throw in the temptations of Florida and being away from home and it's really tough. I know some go on to Div 1 but only the best and most disciplined. Best of luck to those mentioned.
  21. This is a tough way to go. You have to really love the game to go this route.
