This doesn't really pertain to the game, and maybe I'm just partial, but I found it a bit degrading that Casey didn't have anyone on the All-Region team. Smith at a 20ppg average on the season seems well deserving, and arguments could be made for Miller and White as well.

The last time Casey played in the Regional Championship was 1993, and they won that game and went to Rupp. They hadn't won a district championship since 1994.

What a game! After being written off this entire season, 16-17 Casey County is headed to the Regional Championship Game for the first time since 1993! It's been a roller coaster ride, there's been highs and there's been lows, but I had no doubt that we couldn't do what we have done. One of the top backcourts in the 12th, capable bigs, a DJ, a freshman 6th man that has come alive here at the end, and a coach thats on a mission. Folks, we've got a nice team, no fluke's here. On the other side, what a game by Boyle County! Those boys play hard, and they've got some nice young talent moving up in the ranks! Best defensive team in the region in my book, and very well coached.

I think guard play will be the difference in this one, and Casey has 2 high scoring, experienced guards handling the rock. I'm going with Casey 70 Boyle 60. That's my final answer. Looking forward to it, and safe travels to all!

Take a look at their stats vs SW in the 48th championship. Much more balanced, and they got the W.

Hate to add insult to injury here, but from what I seen the other night 2 cards shot 19 for 52 combined, Wayne shot 71 total. And Wayne only managed to make it to the free throw line 7 times. Not to discredit Boyle in any way, but with those kind of stats you're asking to get beat, and I feel like anyone reading this would agree to that.
